Human Resources Generalist (4108004)

This position will be located at 912 Wildwood, Jefferson City, MO 65109. This position is not eligible for remote work.

The Department of Health and Senior Services is looking for an energetic and dedicated individual to join our Human Resources team. The salary indicated represents a base pay rate. If the individual selected or the position is eligible for a pay differential (e.g., shift, security, or years of service), it will be added to the total compensation in your paycheck. A pay differential does not raise your base pay.

Responsibilities

• Process and track all personnel transactions for the assigned divisions of the department.
• Assist hiring managers through the hiring process.
• Prepare and maintain various reports and databases.
• Answer phone calls and refer callers to the appropriate Program Coordinator.
• Enter deductions and other payroll information.
• Assist employees and managers with payroll and benefit questions.
• Assist in the onboarding process of new hires.
• Post positions utilizing the HireTrue (MO Careers) platform.
• Provide support to team members in various HR related topics.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or 3-5 years of relevant experience. (Substitutions may be allowed.)
• Ability to exercise discretion and confidentiality.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
• Ability to meet deadlines and maintain accuracy.
• Critical thinking and decision-making skills.
