About the role

At Suburban Enterprises you own the company you work for. The Human Resources Coordinator provides administrative and operational support across core HR functions: recruitment, onboarding, employee relations support, benefits administration, HRIS and employee record maintenance, compliance coordination, training support, employee communications, and general HR department operations. This role serves as a first point of contact for routine HR questions, maintains accurate and confidential employee information, supports a positive employee experience, and helps ensure HR processes align with company policies, employment requirements, safety expectations, and Suburban Enterprises’ culture and values.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a professional and confidential back-up resource for team members seeking assistance with HR processes, policies, benefits, employment verifications, forms, or general employment-related questions.
  • Maintain a high level of confidentiality and professionalism when handling employee information, personnel matters, and sensitive HR documentation.
  • Assist with recruitment activities, including job postings, candidate communications, interview scheduling, career fair coordination, and preparation of recruitment materials.
  • Support offer, pre-employment, and new-hire processes by coordinating documentation, schedules, communications, and required follow-up.
  • Process personal information changes, file updates, signed forms, records, and other HR documents accurately and confidentially.
  • Coordinate offboarding tasks, including exit survey communications, exit meeting scheduling, and collection of necessary information from payroll or other departments.
  • Assist with creation, maintenance, and publication of HR forms, procedures, and policies.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration, or a related field plus 2 years’ experience supporting a human resource team; or a combination of education and relevant experience required.
  • Basic working knowledge of HRIS systems and proficiency in Microsoft Office products, including Excel, Teams, OneNote, and OneDrive.
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to work independently.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy required.
  • Ability to work in a high-intensity, highly fluid, and fast-paced environment, managing multiple priorities and deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in construction, manufacturing, skilled trades, field services, or a multi-location workforce environment preferred, but not required.
