Position Summary
Jennings Mechanical is seeking a motivated and organized Human Resources Coordinator to support our growing team. This role supports recruiting, onboarding, HR administration, and employee engagement initiatives.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Recruiting & Talent Acquisition
- Support the full recruiting process from job posting through new hire onboarding.
- Post and monitor open positions via ATS (JazzHR).
- Review applications and screen candidates for minimum qualifications.
- Schedule interviews with team and communicate with candidates throughout the hiring process.
- Care for pre-employment requirements including background checks, drug screens, and reference checks.
- Prepare new hire documentation.
- Attend job fairs and build relationships with local trade schools, universities, and high schools.
- Represent Jennings Mechanical professionally during the hiring process.
- Onboarding & Employee Experience
- Coordinate new hire orientation and onboarding activities.
- Prepare onboarding packets and employment paperwork.
- Coordinate employee uniforms, PPE, business cards, and onboarding supplies including computer, phone, & ipad set-up.
- Aid with quarterly employee recognition program and spot awards.
- Help manage content for quarterly company newsletter.
- Help organize quarterly employee appreciation events and engagement activities.
- Human Resources Administration
- Maintain employee personnel files and HRIS records.
- Aid with benefit enrollments and qualifying life events.
- Prepare employment verification letters and HR correspondence.
- Maintain confidential employee information.
- Human Resources Projects & Department Support
- Aid with training coordination and maintain training documentation.
- Aid with performance review administration and maintain schedule.
- Maintain social media presence and develop a social media calendar to drive engagement.
- Help maintain HR policies and forms.
- Perform other HR-related duties as assigned.
- Support Charleston office with office operations tasks.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED.
- Two years of administrative, customer service, or office experience.
- Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
Preferred
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
- Recent grads welcome to apply.
- Experience working in construction, skilled trades, or service industries.
- Experience using HRIS or Applicant Tracking Systems.

Physical Requirements

- Occasional local travel between company locations in Orangeburg and Charleston and some overnight travel to recruiting events.
