Human Resources Co-op

American Battery Solutions is seeking a Human Resources Co-op to assist the HR team with administrative support, onboarding, recruiting, and various HR projects.

Responsibilities

• Assist with ADP transactions for recruiting and general employment needs.
• Support new employee onboarding and orientation.
• Schedule interviews and manage candidate correspondence.
• Update position descriptions and job postings.
• Assist with various HR projects that support the business and HR team.
• Maintain databases, spreadsheets, and prepare presentations.
• Perform general administrative tasks and receptionist duties, including answering phones, welcoming visitors, and covering the reception area as needed.
• Report task progress regularly.
• Follow and adhere to all safety procedures, company policies, processes, and federal/state regulations.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Maintain predictable and reliable attendance.

Requirements

• Undergraduate student pursuing a degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Must be able to work 15–29 hours per week.
• Minimum 3.0 GPA required.
• Must fulfill 24 credit hours in one calendar year.
• Co-op students may work up to 4 years if enrolled in a college or university and meet the above criteria.

Physical Requirements

• Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
• Constant operation of computer and office equipment.
• Ability to adjust focus, especially due to concentration on a computer screen.
• May need to lift and carry up to 30 pounds and/or position the body to reach items on the floor or overhead.
• Occasional movement in industrial environments and on uneven terrain.
• Works in a temperature-controlled office environment, with occasional outdoor or industrial conditions.
• May be required to recognize small numbers, letters, symbols, and colors.

The American Battery Solutions Headquarters and Innovation Center is located in Orion Township, Southeast Michigan. Orion Township is a Pure Michigan Trail Town with over 50 miles of trails, including the Polly Ann Trail, Paint Creek Trail, and Iron Belle Trail.
