About The Role
KanPak®, a Golden State Foods company, is seeking a Human Resources Generalist to join our team in Penn Yan, NY. This role serves as a key point of contact for employee inquiries and provides administrative and operational HR support while ensuring compliance with company policies and applicable laws.
Responsibilities
- Serve as a primary point of contact for employee HR-related questions
- Support weekly payroll processes, including data entry and updates
- Coordinate and lead onboarding activities, including new hire paperwork, I-9 and E-Verify compliance, and orientation
- Maintain accurate and compliant personnel, benefits, and medical records
- Ensure confidentiality and proper handling of sensitive employee information
- Support HR projects, meetings, and communications
- Coordinate employee engagement activities and company-sponsored events
- Assist with employee relations matters, including coaching and counseling support for associates or supervision
- Manage facility access and related administrative processes
- Process employee separations and maintain related records
- Perform general administrative duties and maintain HR documentation
- Associate engagement activity planning and execution
Requirements
- Associate degree or equivalent experience required; Bachelor's degree or higher preferred
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a Human Resources role
- Working knowledge of federal and New York State employment laws (e.g., FMLA, FLSA, ADA, OSHA, EEO)
- Strong communication, organizational, and customer service skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field
- SHRM-CP or PHR certification
- HRIS experience (UKG or similar systems)
- Prior HR Generalist experience
Schedule
- Location: Penn Yan, New York
- On-site role in a manufacturing environment
- Days: Monday-Friday
- Hours: Flex schedule to include hours that extend into the night shift - either 5am start or 9pm end
Pay
Salary range: $62,000 – $75,000 annually
