Job Summary:WTLS provides free civil legal help to low-income West Tennesseans seeking access to basic rights of shelter, financial security, and freedom from abuse. WTLS works with community organizations and client groups to educate communities about civil legal issues and access to justice. Candidates should have a strong commitment to access to equal justice for West Tennesseans who cannot afford to hire an attorney. The HR Business Partner oversees all aspects of human resources practices and processes. This position is integral to fostering a supportive workplace and ensuring our team has the resources and environment they need to provide exceptional legal services. The HR Business Partner manages the employee lifecycle, performance management, training and development, benefits administration, compliance with labor laws and regulations, and employment programs. Duties/Responsibilities:The essential functions of this position include, but are not limited to, the following tasks: · Oversees and administers all human resources functions, including talent acquisition, employee relations, performance management, compensation, benefits, compliance, and professional development.· Serves as a strategic partner to leadership on workforce planning, organizational development, employee engagement, retention, and change management initiatives.· Develops, implements, and evaluates HR programs, policies, and practices that support organizational goals and ensure legal compliance.· Oversees recruitment, onboarding, retention, employee development, and offboarding processes.· Administers employee benefits, compensation programs, workers' compensation, and related HR operations.· Provides guidance and coaching to managers on performance management, employee relations, disciplinary actions, investigations, and conflict resolution.· Develops and delivers employee and management training programs to support organizational effectiveness and professional growth.· Maintains HR records, reporting, compliance requirements, and HR technology systems.· Evaluates workforce trends and organizational effectiveness and provides recommendations to leadership.· Serves as Title VI Coordinator and ensures compliance with applicable employment laws and regulations.· Promotes a positive, collaborative, and inclusive workplace culture aligned with WTLS's mission and values.· Maintains accurate and timely timekeeping records in accordance with organizational policies and reporting requirements. · Establishes and maintains a professional working relationship with staff through effective communication, teamwork, and support.· Serves on internal committees, work groups, and other groups to promote and improve organizational operations.· Performs other related duties as assigned. Requirements:· An Associate’s degree plus 10 years of human resources experience; or a Bachelor’s degree plus more than 7 years of human resources experience.· Current HR certification (i.e. aPHR, SHRM-CP, or higher) or able to obtain certification within 1 year of employment.· Knowledge of HR systems and databases and able to leverage technology to streamline operations.· Intermediate to expert proficiency in Microsoft 365 applications, including SharePoint.· Excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong organizational abilities, and exceptional attention to detail.· Reliable personal transportation and willingness to travel statewide occasionally and to WTLS’ other offices.· Must maintain insurability under WTLS’ group auto policy. Prioritizes and addresses issues proactively while managing multiple competing demands. Working Conditions: · Regular work hours are Monday through Friday; 8:30am to 5:00pm. A minimum 30-minute break must be taken when at least 6 hours are worked. Work hours must be accurate and contemporaneously recorded. A flextime of work hours may be used, if approved. Work after hours or on weekends may be required occasionally. · Work is performed primarily in office, with eligibility for up to two (2) remote workdays per week upon completion of 90-day probationary period. · Prolonged periods of sitting, computer use, and communication via phone, email, video conferencing, and in-person interactions.· Occasionally lift up to 15 pounds may be required. · Periodic travel within the WTLS service area. A valid driver’s license is required. Compensation: · $75,600 to $94,500/annually· Compensation is based on qualifications, relevant experience, and market data.
