Job Overview

As an HR Business Partner you will provide human resources consultation and support to a designated business unit to define and execute HR strategies that enable accomplishment of business objectives.

Contribute to the development of workforce plans and understand external customer trends and issues in the industry that could potentially impact business. Provides guidance to convert strategies into result-driven actions. Utilizes knowledge of various human resources functions to provide tactical support to line managers. Provide change management support as needed.

Essential Job Functions

  • Support assigned group of functional leaders with providing a positive work environment for all team members.
  • Hire employees and process hiring-related paperwork.
  • Maintain current knowledge of Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) and affirmative action guidelines and laws, such as the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).
  • Prepare or maintain employment records related to events, such as hiring, termination, leaves, transfers, or promotions, using human resources management system software.
  • Address employee relations issues, such as harassment allegations, work complaints, or other employee concerns.
  • Schedule or conduct new employee orientations.
  • Maintain and update human resources documents, such as organizational charts, employee handbooks or directories, or performance evaluation forms.
  • Conduct exit interviews and ensure that necessary employment termination paperwork is completed.
  • Provide management with information or training related to interviewing, performance appraisals, counseling techniques, or documentation of performance issues.
  • Analyze employment-related data and prepare required reports.
  • Advise management on organizing, preparing, or implementing recruiting or retention programs.
  • Develop or implement recruiting strategies to meet current or anticipated staffing needs.
  • Schedule or administer skill, intelligence, psychological, or drug tests for current or prospective employees.
  • Conduct reference or background checks on job applicants.
  • Administer leave of absence processes to ensure compliance with FMLA, ADAAA, and other state, federal, and local regulations.
  • Special projects and other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business, Organizational Development or similar is preferred.
  • SHRM or HRCI Certification is preferred.
  • Ability to communicate efficiently and effectively at all levels of the organization.
  • Sound judgement with strong analytical skills.
  • Willingness to travel up to 25% of the time.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities with a high degree of accuracy and customer service.
