About the Role
As a Human Resource Business Partner at Qualus, you will own and execute key initiatives across various HR functions, including benefits, payroll, compliance, organizational design, development, compensation, performance management, training, and employee relations. You will collaborate with leaders and the U.S.-based HR team to align HR solutions with business objectives, using data to drive informed decisions and propel the business forward.
Responsibilities
- Provide human resources guidelines and align HR solutions to meet current and long-term business requirements.
- Offer performance management guidance and work with business leadership to drive positive changes in people management.
- Collaborate with business leadership to develop plans for key talent while aligning with company policy and business needs.
- Partner with management to communicate and implement HR policies, procedures, standards, and government laws/regulations.
- Identify training and individual coaching needs in designated business units.
- Resolve employee relations issues and conduct thorough, objective investigations with HR and business leadership.
- Maintain accurate records and personnel files within the HRIS system.
- Manage all leaves of absence and workers’ compensation claims, including reporting requirements.
- Stay updated on trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in HR, talent management, and employment law.
- Provide support and guidance on complex, specialized, or sensitive HR issues for Qualus’ parent company and leadership.
- Administer routine tasks in delicate circumstances, such as reasonable accommodations, investigations, and terminations.
- Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, including California-based laws.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree.
- 7+ years of human resources experience as an HR Generalist or HR Business Partner.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent communication (verbal and written), people, and organizational skills.
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills to manage employee relations and change management initiatives.
- In-depth knowledge of employment law and practices, including leave laws, discrimination laws, and compensation, with a focus on California-based regulations.
- Experience managing HR programs, processes, administrative procedures, and compliance with government laws/regulations.
- Demonstrated ability to implement and manage HR projects/programs and influence organizational planning at the unit level.
- Ability to work cross-functionally and drive tasks to completion using strong interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to prioritize in dynamic situations.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently and manage a changing workload.
- Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
