Human Resources Business Partner
About the role
As part of a human resources team, the Human Resources Business Partner is responsible for leading the staffing and talent acquisition efforts of the company to build a strong workforce that adds to the company’s success. You will make critical judgements based on information gathered through the interview process. A successful candidate will possess knowledge of employment and labor law, have a deep understanding of the organization and its staffing needs, and possess strong interpersonal and communication skills. Everyday you'll talk to candidates and help us communicate the message of our employment brand, "The Power to Succeed". You'll have exposure to many parts of the business and build relationships with multiple leaders and hiring managers.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for experienced recruiting efforts to include all aspects of the roles of Recruiting Specialist I-II for the hiring process: evaluating needs, advertising, reviewing resumes, and coordinating/conducting interviews and offers.
- Complete special projects as assigned including but not limited to interview guide creation, recruiting videos, content for corporate recruiting website, social media platform ads, flyers, etc.
- Aid in HR projects including but not limited to roundtable discussions, training events, employee retention initiatives, employee relations and legal HR documentation processes in partnership with senior HR team members.
- Provide general HR support to include maintaining records and running reports in HRIS database.
- Process/perform confidential data entry into HRIS program.
- Filing and performing audits of various files.
- Assist with and offer support of employee impacting initiatives.
- Serve as subject matter recruiting expert and as leader for other recruiters as needed. Provide training, mentoring and coaching to junior team members.
- Screen and interview candidates using behavioral interview techniques to ensure candidate matches all specifications of the position including organizational fit and job fit.
- Complete special projects as assigned: Interview guide creation, recruiting videos, content for corporate recruiting website for example.
- Pull, analyze, and act on recruitment metrics and application data. Make solid advertising decisions based on application data analysis.
- Maintain a developed network of talent through various methods including sourcing through web, internet, university/college/school visits, and network contacts within the larger community.
- Establish and maintain relationships with hiring managers operating as a business partner to stay abreast of current and future hiring needs. Update and maintain organization charts.
- Sources active candidates from various resources including online databases, contact lists, internal databases, and employee referrals.
- Educate candidates on the total value proposition of the company including the company's benefits, career development opportunity, and pay.
- Maintain necessary documentation for assigned requisitions i.e. documentation for FCC 396-C filings. Perform routine clerical support for the Human Resources department.
- Ensure adherence with all federal and state employment laws; maintain EEO Guidelines. Filing and other duties as assigned to support the Human Resources function.
- Ensure all background, onboarding and E-Verify requirements are met for all new hires.
- Track and log contact and communication with applicants in the Applicant Tracking System in compliance with EEO and Affirmative Action processes.
- Organize, host and attend Career Fairs and community events at the local and regional level to attract new applicants for positions.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience required.
- 2+ years of experience in full cycle recruiting.
- Preferred – HR or Recruiting Certification.
- Knowledge of local, state, and federal regulations related to employment.
- Effective interviewing practices and techniques.
- Experience successfully managing multiple recruiting assignments within an Applicant Tracking System.
- Ability to operate standard office equipment and use MS Office applications to produce correspondence, reports, electronic communication, spreadsheets, etc.
- Superior verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
- Strong interpersonal skills necessary to build strong and productive personal relationships and work effectively with individuals at all levels of the organization.
- Demonstrated ability to maintain strict confidentiality and judgment sufficient to handle sensitive employment issues.
- Ability to effectively advocate ideas and influence internal and external audiences.
