About the Role

The Human Resources Business Partner serves as a trusted advisor to community leaders and business office managers on employee relations matters. This role ensures consistency in the application of HR policies and procedures, provides strategic counsel, and supports critical areas such as performance management. The ideal candidate will possess deep HR knowledge, outstanding communication skills, and the ability to assess organizational needs effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Oversees workplace investigations from initial intake through interviews, escalation, resolution, or closure.
  • Collaborates with Business Office Managers to address and resolve complex employee relations matters.
  • Maintains comprehensive knowledge of legal requirements regarding daily employee management, minimizing legal risks and ensuring regulatory compliance.
  • Offers ongoing performance management support to the leadership team, including coaching, counseling, career development, and disciplinary actions.
  • Reviews trends and metrics from stay interviews and employee feedback, working with the HR group to develop solutions, programs, and policies.
  • Delivers training and guidance on the exit interview process and analyzes collected data.
  • Facilitates communication between communities and the unemployment claims manager, and participates in unemployment hearings when required.
  • Partners closely with management and employees to foster positive working relationships, enhance morale, and improve productivity and retention.
  • Ensures full compliance with health and safety regulations and stays informed of updates to laws and regulations affecting the organization.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in Human Resources, and 5 years of direct HR experience; or 10 years in a Human Resources role.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Strong facilitation or training skills.
  • Working knowledge of multiple human resources functions, including employee relations, diversity, performance management, and federal and state employment laws (FMLA, PFML, ADA, FLSA).
  • Experience working with managers on complex performance management, disciplinary, and termination issues.
  • Ability to maintain a high level of quality, accuracy, and timely documentation of assigned work.
  • Solid analytical and computer skills.
  • Must be able to travel within our portfolio, which includes Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Connecticut, and New York.

Pay

Pay range: $100,000–$120,000 per year.
