- Proficiency in HRIS, ATS, payroll, and workforce management systems, as well as Microsoft Office Suite (particularly Excel and PowerPoint); demonstrated ability to analyze HR data, develop reports and dashboards, and leverage technology to improve HR operations and support business objectives.
Core HR Responsibilities
- Drive the day-to-day HR functions that support the lifecycle of an associate.
- Champion associate engagement and continuously identify areas of improvement for HR processes, policies and procedures to reinforce our company's living company culture and engagement.
- Collaborate with senior leadership to understand business goals and promote HR strategies that align with the company's short-term and long-term objectives.
- Primary contact for associates and leaders with HR related questions.
- Serve as a mediator and advisor in resolving employee relations issues, ensuring a balance between situational leadership and fair/consistent application of company policies and procedures.
- Collaborate with HR leadership and Legal to create, update, communicate, administer, and ensure compliance with employment laws and regulations.
- Stay updated on relevant legislation.
- Maintain employee records, including personnel files, and HR-related documentation in accordance with legal and company requirements.
- Uphold standards of strict confidentiality with respect to all matters and documents; exercise discretion and sound judgment when aware of sensitive matters.
- Promote AssuranceAmerica's value proposition and brand to potential candidates and associates to facilitate our Living Company vision of promoting from within and growing our talent base in a manner that is ethical, fair and legally compliant.
- Collaborate with HR leadership and Legal to create, update, communicate, and administer HR policies and procedures consistent with best practices and company values.
- Collect and analyze workforce data.
- Report on HR metrics and communicate insights that enhance organizational effectiveness and drive business results.
- Promote annual engagement survey and communicate with associates to assess satisfaction and identify areas for improvement.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Management or related field that yields knowledge of management practices.
- Five years' work experience in a similar HR role.
- Work in a functional HR expert (compensation, payroll, benefits, training, etc.) role and/or using Workday a plus.
- Experience in analyzing data to define the root cause, design practical, creative and/or innovative solutions, and ensuring effective implementation of solutions.
- HR certification such as PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP.
- Demonstrated discretion when handling sensitive, confidential and/or high-stakes employee matters; with ability to provide exceptional internal and external customer service with a proactive and flexible approach.
- Available to travel, attend events and to work hours as needed in support of company initiatives.
- Use independent judgment to make decisions as well as organize and prioritize work; with a willingness to adjust to changing priorities.
- Demonstrated excellence thriving in a fast-paced environment.
