About the role

This position is based out of our San Jose, CA office.

Responsibilities

  • Consults with functional management and HR colleagues to deliver timely and value-added HR services and solutions which reflect the business objectives of the Company.
  • Develops and delivers HR programs and solutions, focusing on talent management, organizational effectiveness, leadership performance, and engagement.
  • Fulfills a customer relationship manager role for specified business groups within the Company, aligning with all Company policies, procedures, key objectives, and regulations.
  • Supports workforce planning, succession planning, and performance management processes.
  • Assists in organizational change efforts, including restructuring, team development, and process improvements.
  • Partners with HR Centers of Excellence (e.g., talent acquisition, compensation, benefits, learning & development) to deliver integrated HR solutions.
  • Provides HR policy guidance and interpretation, reducing legal risk and ensuring compliance.
  • Supports the development and implementation of programs that promote positive employee relations.
  • Manages and resolves employee relations issues, conducting stay and exit interviews as needed.
  • Maintains HRIS system records and other sensitive employee data accurately and confidentially.
  • Builds and maintains strong, positive working relationships with internal management and employees, external vendor partnerships, and community contacts.
  • Utilizes LEAN concepts or other continuous improvement methodologies to ensure the most efficient operations, processes, and activities.
  • Promotes and models the Company's mission, vision, and values through exercising sound and ethical business practices, championing all elements of diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI), and providing high quality services and programs as they relate to clients, subcontractors, co-workers, suppliers, and the public.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in business, human resources, or a related field.
  • Master’s Degree, SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP), SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP), HCI Professional in HR (PHR) or Senior Professional in HR (SPHR) credential preferred.
  • Minimum 2-4 years of HR generalist or consulting experience that involves resolving employee relations issues, preferably in a construction or related business.
  • Broad knowledge in human resource management across HR disciplines, including talent management, change management, employee relations, diversity, and performance management.
  • Working knowledge of U.S. employment law, HR best practices, Affirmative Action Planning and other federal and state employment laws and related processes.
  • Experience with HRIS systems and data-driven decision-making.
  • Prominent level of integrity and leadership in employee engagement.
  • Proven ability to develop trusted partnerships with senior leaders.
  • Strong business acumen, customer service skills, and experience partnering with senior leaders in a process-oriented business setting.
  • Strong skills in developing sound recommendations for management decision-making.
  • Excellent written communication skills, including high quality documentation and report preparation.
  • Superior listening, presentation, interpersonal, negotiation, conflict management, and persuasion skills, and the ability to influence employees at all levels, including senior management.
  • Demonstrated ability to diagnose complex problems with critical thinking skills and detail orientation, and to drive appropriate solutions with self-initiative.

Pay

$108,000– $130,000 annually, based on experience and qualifications.
