Human Resources Assistant
Job Description
The Office of Human Resources at Central Virginia Community College seeks an administrative support professional with strong interpersonal, organizational, and technological skills. The Administrative and Office Specialist provides administrative support for the Human Resources office and manages the daily workflow of the office. This position supports multiple projects and manages changing priorities. Duties include providing a friendly, welcoming reception as staff, faculty, students, and administrators enter the Human Resources office, procurement, maintaining files, assisting with new hire onboarding, and answering general HR questions about benefits, payroll, etc.
Special Assignments
May be required to perform other duties as assigned. May be required to assist the agency or state government generally in the event of an emergency declaration by the Governor.
KSA's/Required Qualifications
- High school graduate or equivalent
- Ability to work independently with minimum supervision
- Knowledgeable of current office practices and Microsoft Office Suite/other software packages such as Adobe Acrobat Pro, Google Suite
- Knowledge of procurement processes and budget management
- Possess ability to communicate effectively and establish and maintain working relationships with a diverse population
- Possess strong organizational and technological skills
