Responsibilities

  • Works collaboratively with the plant to improve business results and meet objectives.
  • Primary plant process owner for payroll and benefits.
  • Affords assistance in developing effective long-term staffing plans to hire the right people in the right jobs at the right time.
  • Plans, develops, and implements wage and salary programs to align with business strategy and external competitive concerns.
  • Provides expertise to plant on leadership development, performance management, change management, resource planning, salary planning, etc.
  • Consults with employees at all levels through listening objectively and then providing solutions that support positive business results.
  • Participates in the development of corporate and departmental goals and objectives with particular focus on alignment of various departments supported.
  • Educates and monitors management actions and decisions to maintain compliance with legal requirements.
  • Evaluates changing demographics, and legal and technical developments in the field, and develops new programs to meet the corporation’s needs.
  • Challenges and directs the plant management team to apply Trivium values in day-to-day actions and decisions.
  • Facilitates Organizational Health Initiatives (OHI)
  • Integrates Trivium standards of Leadership into client systems such as Performance Management, Succession Planning, Selection process, etc.
  • Reviews personnel actions including merit increases, promotions, transfers, and disciplinary actions. Ensures all actions comply with internal and external controls.
  • Manages the uniform application of policies and procedures and the application of discipline.
  • Manages and tracks safety training, plant incidents/accidents, and safety programs, plus case management for worker’s compensation, to ensure our employees work in a safe environment.
  • Affords assistance in projects as needed.

Qualifications and Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in HR strongly preferred; Associate Degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field with eight years of progressive experience in human resources at a management level.
  • Experience independently identifying, developing, and leading key strategic projects to meet corporate business goals.
  • Ability to guide efforts of plant-level HR resources to identify opportunities and lead change.
  • Knowledge of HRIS and payroll software to assure accurate record-keeping, reporting, and administrative compliance consistent with regulatory and internal practices. Ability to utilize available data for assessment of current state on the progress of key initiatives.
  • Effective in problem-solving and dispute resolution.
  • Experience and comfort working in a team-based matrix environment at a high level.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to effectively handle multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Ability to establish approaches to improve the effectiveness of employee engagement efforts.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to communicate with all levels of employees, especially during difficult and challenging situations.
  • Knowledge in the area of talent acquisition, performance management, and retention.
  • Experience in preparing and delivering training to employees on a number of HR/policy topics.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Excel.

Work Environment

This position will perform a majority of job duties in an office environment where using a computer, telephone and printer are common. Time spent on the manufacturing floor will be required, the noise level in that environment is usually very loud. Employees must wear hearing protection and all other assigned Personal Protective Equipment. Temperature can range from extreme cold (90 degrees). The atmosphere contains fumes, dust, and odors.
