About the Role

The Senior HRIS Analyst is responsible for leading the administration, optimization, and ongoing support of Human Resource Information Systems (HRIS) and related business applications. This role partners with Human Resources, Information Technology, Security, vendors, and business stakeholders to improve HR technology, streamline business processes, ensure data integrity, and support strategic HR initiatives. The ideal candidate combines technical expertise with strong analytical and problem-solving skills to enhance system performance and user experience.

Location: Lansing, Michigan (Onsite)

Key Responsibilities

  • HRIS Administration
    • Administer and maintain HRIS platforms and related enterprise applications.
    • Configure system settings, workflows, and business rules to support HR operations.
    • Monitor system performance and recommend enhancements to improve functionality.
    • Ensure HR systems operate efficiently and meet organizational requirements.
    • Support ongoing system maintenance, upgrades, and enhancements.
  • Systems Analysis & Process Improvement
    • Analyze HR workflows, business processes, and system functionality to identify improvement opportunities.
    • Recommend and implement technology solutions that improve operational efficiency and employee experience.
    • Develop strategies to optimize HR processes through automation and digital transformation.
    • Document business requirements, workflows, and system enhancements.
    • Support continuous improvement initiatives across Human Resources operations.
  • Artificial Intelligence & Innovation
    • Evaluate opportunities to leverage Artificial Intelligence within HR processes.
    • Recommend AI-driven solutions that improve efficiency, reporting, and decision-making.
    • Support responsible AI implementation while ensuring data privacy and governance standards.
    • Collaborate with stakeholders to identify innovative technologies that enhance HR services.
  • Technical Support & Troubleshooting
    • Provide advanced support for HR systems by investigating and resolving technical issues.
    • Analyze root causes of system problems and implement long-term solutions.
    • Coordinate issue resolution with internal IT teams, vendors, and external partners.
    • Respond to service requests while maintaining high levels of customer support.
    • Ensure timely resolution of system incidents and user concerns.
  • System Integration & Collaboration
    • Partner with Information Technology, Security, and business teams to support HR system integrations.
    • Coordinate identity management activities and technical implementations.
    • Support data integration between HR systems and downstream business applications.
    • Participate in enterprise technology projects affecting Human Resources operations.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Vendor & Stakeholder Management
    • Serve as the primary liaison between the organization and HR technology vendors.
    • Coordinate software updates, platform enhancements, and vendor support activities.
    • Manage vendor relationships to ensure effective service delivery.
    • Communicate technical updates and project progress to stakeholders.
    • Support vendor implementations and system upgrades.
  • Data Management & Compliance
    • Maintain the integrity, accuracy, and security of HR data.
    • Develop and maintain HR reports, dashboards, and analytics.
    • Support compliance with organizational policies and applicable employment regulations.
    • Perform system testing, validation, and quality assurance activities.
    • Ensure proper documentation of system configurations and business processes.

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Information Systems, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Five to seven years of experience supporting HR systems, HR operations, payroll systems, or other enterprise business applications.
  • Strong experience administering HRIS platforms, including system configuration, reporting, workflow management, testing, troubleshooting, and user support.
  • Working knowledge of Human Resources processes, payroll operations, data management, internal controls, and compliance requirements.
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while collaborating effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy.

Preferred

  • Experience supporting HR system implementations and enterprise technology upgrades.
  • Experience leading process improvement and workflow optimization initiatives.
  • Experience developing technical documentation and system procedures.
  • Experience delivering end-user training and system support.
  • Knowledge of Artificial Intelligence applications within Human Resources.
  • Experience working with enterprise reporting, analytics, and business intelligence tools.
