HR Specialist
About the role
You get to support the execution of people strategies and HR programs that build a strong foundation for our business and workforce. You will serve as a knowledgeable resource to managers and employees within your region on Human Resources-related matters, including employee relations, performance management, onboarding, policy administration, and compliance.
Responsibilities
- Build positive working relationships across assigned locations and with the HR team to support managers and employees with day-to-day HR needs
- Aid in addressing employee relations matters by helping to document, escalate, and support the investigation process under the guidance of senior HR team members
- Support field management with basic performance management activities including documentation, coaching conversations, and disciplinary action processes
- Respond to HR-related questions and requests from managers and employees, escalating more complex matters to senior HR staff as needed
- Assist in gathering and compiling HR data and metrics to support reporting and program initiatives
- Develop a foundational understanding of applicable employment laws and company policies to help ensure consistent and compliant HR practices across US and Canadian locations
- Support efforts to promote a positive workplace culture by assisting with employee engagement activities and retention initiatives
- Communicate and reinforce HR policies and procedures to employees and managers at assigned locations
- Assist in supporting workforce planning and onboarding activities as directed by HR leadership
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management or related field
- HR Certification (SHRM/PHR) preferred
- Thorough knowledge of labor legislation, including Canada
- 3-5 years HR business partner experience required
- Experience working in a manufacturing environment, preferred
- Experience working and supporting Canada Operations
- Broad working knowledge of all aspects of HR functions and business processes
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Proficient in Data Analytics, Microsoft Office and general computer skills
- Strong planning and execution skills
- Solid cross-functional collaboration and communication skills
- Strong writing, interpersonal and presentation skills
- Bilingual abilities (English and French)
Qualifications

USD $74,000.00 - USD $92,000.00 /Yr.
