HR Specialist
Description
This position will be responsible for ongoing talent acquisition, onboarding, employment processing, communication, engagement, and reporting activities.
- Post and maintain job openings in HRIS and job boards.
- Aid in reviewing resumes and applications to identify qualified candidates.
- Conduct phone screens with candidates.
- Schedule interviews with hiring managers and candidates.
- Communicate with candidates throughout the hiring process, providing a positive candidate experience.
- Aid in background screening and pre-employment requirements.
- Attend career fairs, networking events, and recruiting activities as needed.
- Track recruiting metrics and maintain applicant records within the applicant tracking system.
- Cook up and manage employee referrals.
- Aid new hires with completing onboarding activities and pre-employment documentation through the Human Resources Information System (HRIS).
- Coordinate and facilitate new hire orientation, including preparing orientation materials, new hire folders, and first-day documentation.
- Complete and maintain new hire onboarding checklists to ensure all required tasks are completed accurately and on time.
- Aid with annual Benefits Open Enrollment.
- Aid with the administration and collection of company policy signoffs and trainings.
- Participate in projects, requests and assignments and all other duties as assigned based on the needs of the department and organization.
- Aid in processing employee leaves.
- Maintain accurate employee personnel files.
- Accurately track and update all certifications in HRIS.
- Serve as a backup for the Human Resources Manager.
Knowledge, Skills And Abilities
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite, specifically Outlook, PowerPoint, Word and Excel.
- Exemplary reporting, presentation, planning and time management skills.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Maintain a high degree of discretion and confidentiality in all matters.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, highly motivated, self-starter and responsible person.
- Teamwork and service oriented is a must, with the ability to build rapport and cooperative relationships.
Education And Experience
- A high school diploma or GED equivalency required.
- A bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Management, Law or other related field required.
- Minimum 3 years’ related experience in Human Resources, preferably progressive experience in either a generalist, recruiter or specific specialty of HR.
- Demonstrated experience maintaining confidentiality and discretion with highly sensitive topics and personal information.
- PREFERRED: PHR or SHRM certification.
Salary
$63,000-$75,000
