About the role
Reporting to the HR Director, the HR Manager will lead HR initiatives for the Fowlerville plant, serving as a trusted partner to coach and guide leaders through employee-related situations and challenges. They will shape the site’s people strategy by developing and recommending effective HR plans and procedures that support all employees and drive a positive workplace culture.
Responsibilities
- Plan, organize, and oversee all department activities while contributing to the development of goals, objectives, and HR systems.
- Lead designated project activities and prepare the HR operations budget.
- Manage full-cycle recruitment for exempt, nonexempt, student, and temporary employees; conduct new hire orientations and support career progression and relations.
- Prepare separation reports and documentation; conduct exit interviews to identify trends and root causes.
- Collaborate closely with plant leadership and cross-functional teams to achieve organizational goals.
- Develop programs that support positive employee engagement, ensure legal compliance, and guide leaders on policies related to equal employment, compensation, benefits, health, safety, and training.
- Drive employee involvement, lead change initiatives, support suggestion programs, and promote safety and health across the plant.
- Manage affirmative action programs, maintain regulatory reports (including annual EEO-1), administer the performance review process, and perform other duties as needed.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree.
- 10+ years of progressive HR experience.
- Experience in human resources including employment, training, benefits, wage and salary administration, communication, and continuous improvement.
- Proven experience maintaining a positive climate.
- Knowledge of manufacturing environment including flexible shift models.
- Strong interpersonal, facilitation, and organizational skills.
- Proven supervisory experience.
- Authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship now or in the future.
