About the Role
The Human Resources Manager will serve as a strategic partner to plant and business leadership, driving HR initiatives that support operational excellence and workforce engagement within a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This role oversees all aspects of human resources, including employee relations, talent acquisition, performance management, compliance, and organizational development. The ideal candidate will bring a hands-on leadership style, strong knowledge of manufacturing workforce dynamics, and the ability to balance strategic initiatives with day-to-day HR execution.
Responsibilities
- Partner with plant leadership to develop and execute HR strategies aligned with business objectives and operational goals.
- Act as a trusted advisor on organizational structure, workforce planning, and talent development.
- Drive plant-level initiatives focused on employee engagement, retention, and culture improvement.
- Manage employee relations issues, ensuring fair and consistent application of policies and procedures.
- Conduct investigations and provide recommendations for resolution in alignment with company policies and employment laws.
- Foster a positive work environment while supporting a high-performance, accountability-driven culture.
- Lead full-cycle recruitment efforts for hourly and salaried roles within the facility.
- Develop talent pipelines for critical positions and succession planning initiatives.
- Partner with hiring managers to identify staffing needs and implement effective sourcing strategies.
- Implement and manage performance management processes, including goal setting, reviews, and development planning.
- Coach managers on employee performance, feedback delivery, and leadership best practices.
- Identify training and development needs and coordinate programs to support workforce skill development.
- Administer compensation and benefits programs to ensure competitiveness and compliance.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws (including FLSA, EEOC, OSHA, and Louisiana labor regulations).
- Maintain accurate HR records and reporting metrics.
- Oversee onboarding, orientation, and offboarding processes.
- Manage HR systems, data reporting, and HR KPIs such as turnover, absenteeism, and time-to-fill.
- Support payroll and benefits administration in coordination with corporate HR and finance.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field required.
- HR certification (PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP) strongly preferred.
- 7+ years of progressive HR experience, preferably within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- 3+ years of leadership or supervisory experience.
- 3-5 years of HR experience in a union environment.
- Proven experience supporting hourly production workforces.

Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in multi-shift or unionized manufacturing environments.
- Familiarity with HRIS systems and data-driven HR decision-making.
- Experience supporting safety and compliance initiatives in partnership with EHS teams.
