Position Responsibilities
- Aid in recruiting, screening, and interviewing of potential employees.
- Manage the cost-effectiveness and methods of recruitment.
- Ensure all new hires complete a post-offer, pre-employment drug test and physical, as required.
- Assist with production room order logistics, including will call, USDA compliance, Fed-Ex/customer shipments, and order maintenance (tracking, invoices, PO, pricing, inventory status, etc.).
- Facilitate associate relations during the absence of the Vice President, HR.
- Gather necessary information, research, and discuss with appropriate parties as needed to assist in resolving issues.
- Stay informed about situations to ensure they are resolved promptly.
- Keep the Vice President, HR informed of all ongoing matters.
- Assist in creating, implementing, maintaining, and updating human resources policies and procedures.
- Provide benefit information to associates, directing them to PFG’s Benefits Center and encouraging timely benefit elections.
- Ensure necessary information is input into the Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS) in a timely manner.
- Ensure fair pay practices for all associates in accordance with the current CBA collective bargaining agreements.
- Maintain and ensure legal compliance of associate personnel files and HRIS database.
- Assist in maintaining the HRIS system.
- Attend training as required and necessary.
- Provide ad hoc reports as requested.
- Help maintain accurate information regarding employee records (e.g., new hire, disciplinary action, termination, etc.).
- Provide necessary reports, logs, files, etc. as requested during reviews.
- Manage new hire orientations, including benefits, policies and procedures, company history, and other pertinent information.
Required Qualifications
- A High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Four to six years of Human Resources generalist experience, with at least three years in recruiting and hiring both exempt and non-exempt associates.
- Current and thorough knowledge of employment law.
