HR Generalist (Manufacturing)

Duties And Responsibilities

• Maintains leaves of absence including FMLA along with S&A and other disability payments
• Serves as the primary point of contact for HR related inquiries and issues
• Supports employees with payroll, benefits questions, or other employment-related matters
• Conducts investigations as needed and collaborates with the HR Manager to determine appropriate next steps
• Applies basic HR laws and regulations
• Aids external vendors with audits/testing, including but not limited to: payroll, 401(k), workers compensation, EEO-1
• Monitors and follows up on employee attendance
• Processes bi-weekly payroll for all employees, including: base pay, bonuses, retro wages, vacation/sick pay-outs
• Manages employee status changes
• Assists with recruitment, hiring, and onboarding processes
• Handles unemployment claims
• Participates in the creation and implementation of workplace policies
• Ensures consistent and fair application of HR policies and procedures
• Trains and coaches employees on HR policies and procedures
• Fosters positive relationships between employees and the company
• Supports labor tracking
• Administers benefits such as health, dental, life, disability, ancillary benefits, COBRA, etc.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in related field
• 3 years of human resource related experience
• 3 years of payroll and benefits experience, preferred
• Working knowledge of state and federal employment law and regulations
• Experience administering health and welfare benefits and handling day-to-day employee relations issues
• Experience working with worker’s compensation, FMLA, COBRA, and HIPAA programs
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
• Proficiency with HRIS data entry and analysis required; ADP HRIS experience, preferred
• Effective analytical, problem-solving, administrative, and organizational skills
