HR GENERALIST I (391)- BILINGUAL - SPANISH

About the role

This position oversees the company's workers' compensation program, ensuring claims are filed promptly and administrative requirements are met. It also involves managing FMLA and leave of absence processes, maintaining confidentiality, and assisting with recruitment and employee relations.

Responsibilities

• Files claims with insurance company within 48 hours and follows up on administrative requirements.
• Communicates updates to employees, supervisors, and leadership.
• Guides employees and supervisors on FMLA & LOA.
• Tracks and sends required notices for disability claims.
• Collaborates with Benefits group to ensure premium payments.
• Handles confidential reports and maintains employee records.
• Assists with benefits open enrollment and employee relations.
• Responds to inquiries and investigates employee issues.
• Conducts exit interviews and identifies retention strategies.
• Supports recruitment efforts and assists with staffing needs.
• Updates job descriptions and administers employee surveys.
• Performs administrative duties and communicates safety information.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and 3+ years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• PHR or SPHR certification preferred.
• Advanced knowledge of personnel policy and procedure and federal/state employment laws.
• Excellent problem-solving and judgment skills.
• Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office skills.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work off-hours as needed.

Other Skills and Abilities

• Excellent organizational and attention to detail skills.
• Highly proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Strong bi-lingual skills helpful.

Physical Demands

• Regularly remains at stationary work location and moves from place to place within the work facility.
• Occasionally uses the telephone and computer.
• Requires close vision.

Work Environment

• The work environment is usually quiet.
