About the role

The Multnomah Athletic Club is seeking an energetic HR Generalist to join their Human Resource team. This position supports a wide range of HR functions including compensation administration, benefits processing, leave coordination, and employee relations.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with job description updates, evaluations, and position classifications in partnership with the HR Business Partner
  • Support compensation data collection, market surveys, and record maintenance
  • Process merit increases and support incentive program administration
  • Respond to routine employee benefits inquiries with a high level of service
  • Process benefit enrollments, changes, and terminations in Dayforce
  • Support open enrollment planning, communications, and event logistics
  • Aid in benefits audits, wellness programs, and invoice reconciliation
  • Assist with leave of absence tracking, documentation, and follow-up communication
  • Support accommodation-related paperwork and coordination
  • Escalate complex or sensitive cases appropriately
  • Serve as a first point of contact for employee concerns
  • Listen actively, document issues objectively, and escalate to HRBP as needed
  • Support follow-up communication and maintain strict confidentiality
  • Support onboarding processes including orientation, check-ins, and documentation
  • Respond to employee inquiries through Zendesk and escalate as appropriate
  • Aid in personnel file maintenance, reporting, and compliance processes (ACA, workers’ comp, 401(k) audits)
  • Contribute to employee engagement initiatives, events, and HR projects

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field; or equivalent experience
  • 2 years of HR or related experience (internships and administrative experience considered)
  • HR certification (PHR, SHRM-CP) a plus, but not required
  • Foundational understanding of HR practices and a strong desire to learn across disciplines
  • High attention to detail with strong organizational and time management skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a service-oriented mindset
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and sound judgment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and willingness to learn HR systems (Dayforce experience a plus)
  • Strong active listening skills and ability to navigate sensitive employee interactions professionally
