About the role

The Human Resources Generalist at Foothills Retirement Community is a key member of the team responsible for supporting employees and leaders while fostering a positive workplace culture.

Responsibilities

  • Review, screen, schedule, and coordinate applicants through the hiring process
  • Conduct background checks on candidates
  • Schedule and coordinate orientation for new employees
  • Aid in retention efforts
  • Post and manage job vacancies in HRIS
  • Maintain an accurate and detailed candidate database
  • Facilitate new hire orientation and ensure a welcoming onboarding experience
  • Drive employee engagement, recognition, and retention initiatives
  • Track recruiting metrics and produce reports
  • Coordinate with local community resources to attract applicants and attend job fairs
  • Assist employees and leaders with HR-related questions, policies, and procedures
  • Support the Community Director of HR on employee relations, investigations, and performance management
  • Coordinate HR compliance activities and ensure adherence to employment laws
  • Manage workers' compensation, leave administration, and workplace safety programs
  • Prepare reports, audits, and other HR documentation as needed
  • Maintain confidentiality of applicant, candidate, and employee information

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred
  • Minimum of 2 years of human resources experience
  • Experience in healthcare, senior living, hospitality, or a service-oriented environment preferred
  • Knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices
  • HR certification (SHRM-CP, PHR, or equivalent) a plus
