About the role
The Human Resources Generalist at Foothills Retirement Community is a key member of the team responsible for supporting employees and leaders while fostering a positive workplace culture.
Responsibilities
- Review, screen, schedule, and coordinate applicants through the hiring process
- Conduct background checks on candidates
- Schedule and coordinate orientation for new employees
- Aid in retention efforts
- Post and manage job vacancies in HRIS
- Maintain an accurate and detailed candidate database
- Facilitate new hire orientation and ensure a welcoming onboarding experience
- Drive employee engagement, recognition, and retention initiatives
- Track recruiting metrics and produce reports
- Coordinate with local community resources to attract applicants and attend job fairs
- Assist employees and leaders with HR-related questions, policies, and procedures
- Support the Community Director of HR on employee relations, investigations, and performance management
- Coordinate HR compliance activities and ensure adherence to employment laws
- Manage workers' compensation, leave administration, and workplace safety programs
- Prepare reports, audits, and other HR documentation as needed
- Maintain confidentiality of applicant, candidate, and employee information
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred
- Minimum of 2 years of human resources experience
- Experience in healthcare, senior living, hospitality, or a service-oriented environment preferred
- Knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices
- HR certification (SHRM-CP, PHR, or equivalent) a plus
