About the role
Xanitos is seeking a Human Resources Generalist in Lansing, MI. This position will also oversee additional accounts remotely. The position requires occasional travel to additional locations.
Responsibilities
- Effectively navigates HRIS (UKG) system and maintains employee records and compiles reports.
- Manages candidate’s background clearance process.
- Manages the new hire onboarding/off boarding processes to ensure all policy and compliance related requirements are satisfied.
- Affords support and assistance with training staff with all facets of employment including clearances and HRIS and Payroll software requirements.
- Affords assistance with payroll responsibilities and processing of payroll for hourly staff, and maintains accurate payroll records.
- Affords responsibility for all benefit enrollment procedures for hourly staff and maintains accurate records.
- Maintains accurate employee files in accordance with established requirements.
- Maintains working knowledge of all systems including payroll, timekeeping and HRIS.
- Orders office supplies including human resource required postings, etc.
- Manages employee FMLA and Leave of Absence notification documentation and tracking.
- Provides first line coaching and guidance to leaders and associates regarding routine employment issues in such areas as policy and procedure interpretation/application.
- Affords direction to managers regarding necessary investigation, dispute resolution, corrective action, harassment, and terminations.
- Liaison with third party administer of unemployment claims to ensure timely and proper processing of claims and required hearings.
- Consults with managers and supervisors about company policies and procedures and assisting them in their interpretation and application.
- Consults with managers regarding employee turnover, absenteeism, changes in work settings, employee motivation and recognition, and routine disciplinary actions.
- Affords assurance that the company complies with federal and state laws and regulations.
- Conducts exit interviews, analyzes data and makes recommendations to the management team for corrective action and continuous improvement.
- Conducts internal HR audits to ensure compliance with established policies and procedures.
- Affords assistance with the administration and processing of merit increase process various incentive/bonus plan payments.
- Prepares and assembles monthly executive and management reports regarding employment data including turnover statistics.
- Schedules and organizes various activities.
- Performs additional duties as assigned by HR Manager and Unit Director.
Qualifications
- High School diploma required.
- BS/BA degree in business administration with major concentration in Human Resources or related field of study highly preferred.
- 3-5 years relevant HR experience required.
