HR Generalist

Magretech is searching for an HR Generalist to support the Plant location. This position serves as the conduit for positive employee and management relations and is accountable for various human resources responsibilities.

About the role

The HR Generalist reports to the HR Director and administers and coordinates plant policies, oversees programs, and manages HR projects.

Responsibilities

• Implements and administers ongoing policies, programs, and procedures to foster understanding and partner with management for optimal positive employee relations and retention strategies.
• Manages all company-wide communications.
• Handles new employee recruitment, orientation, and training.
• Processes payroll and submits weekly reports.
• Promotes employee engagement and satisfaction through various initiatives.
• Supports workforce planning, talent acquisition, onboarding, and succession planning.
• Coaches managers on performance management processes, including performance feedback, calibration, and career transitions.
• Supports employee training and development initiatives, including identifying learning needs, designing and delivering programs, and tracking outcomes.
• Performs HR statistical analysis, prepares reports, and communicates data and trends.
• Manages employee benefit enrollments, questions, or inquiries.
• Performs other HR-related duties and projects as assigned.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree from an accredited four-year college or university; 2+ years of relevant experience preferred.
• General knowledge of employment laws and practices.
• Knowledge of Human Resource systems, Internet software, Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), and Payroll Database software.
• Specialized knowledge of HR systems, processes, and procedures, including administration of benefits, compensation, and other programs.
• Prior experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently.
• Must maintain a high level of confidentiality.
• Ability to work well with others in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
• Ability to partner with managers and supervisors.
• Must be respectful, approachable, and team-oriented while building strong working relationships and a positive work environment.

Work Environment

The work environment includes both office and plant settings. Most time is spent in an office outside the production plant or warehouse center. The role may require walking onto the plant production floor where conditions can include:

• Weather and non-weather-related hot or humid conditions, extreme cold.
• Working near moving mechanical parts or equipment.
• Noise levels that are quiet in the office but can be loud on the production floor, warehouse, or loading areas.

Physical demands include frequent sitting, with occasional requirements to be on the production floor.
