Description
Job Duties:
- RECRUITMENT: Helps create and place employment advertising, screens prospective associates by checking references, administering pre-employment assessment, and interviewing. May provide job requirements to employment agencies and assist with recruiting.
- POSITION CONTROL: Serves as the job posting coordinator for internal and external recruitment. Utilizes the Internet capabilities for sourcing through candidate searches.
- PERFORMANCE MANAGEMENT: Manages performance appraisal and review process for factory associates and ensures timeliness. This includes coaching factory supervisors on proper forms completion. Maintains confidentiality and ensures that HRIS information and files are up to date, accurate and meet established data integrity criteria.
- CUSTOMER SERVICE: Ensures that customer needs are met by integrating them into operations. Communicates with a diverse group of customers as well as internal contacts at all levels of the organization. Assists with affirmative action.
- PROCESS IMPROVEMENT: Recommends changes in office practices or procedures and improves workflow processes in the department. Independent judgment is required to plan, prioritize, and organize diversified workload.
- Safety: Manage safety in the facility to maintain a safe working environment and to comply with OSHA standards.
- Specific Job Duties Organizing the 1st 5-10 days for New Hires such as: Basic orientation and Coordination with Buddies and Trainers Performing regular check-ins with new hires Organizing the Technical Training steps Assisting in Job fit assessment. Organizing engagement events such Town Halls, Lunch and learn, People Matters meetings, etc. Provides customer service for phones and walk in traffic to applicants, associates, and visitors.
- Answering phones, taking messages, transferring calls, directing associates with questions to appropriate HR person.
- Assists with administrative support for Human Resource Manager.
- Manages the reception area and serves as key HR customer service professional for walk in applicants.
- Conducts reference checks. Handles paperwork for new hires and sends rejection letters to candidates not selected. Gathers other data such as EEO information, as needed.
- Coordinator for factory hourly annual general wage increase. Generates and distributes reports for Supervisors, Section Managers, HR, and Horizons Manufacturing Associates.
- Reviews and researches any vacation and bonus issues, questions or discrepancies for factory hourly associates.
- Completes weekly vacation maintenance cleanup for factory hourly associates.
- Covers for the Human Resource Manager during absences.
- Coordinate retirement celebrations and maintain retiree database.
- Maintain filing and records.
- Answers questions from associates and supervisors regarding HR policies and procedures and refers customers to HR manager as required.
- Completes and maintains I-9 file in accordance with Federal Law and follow up on expired cards.
- Recruits and trains Safety Ambassadors from the facility floor associates.
- Lead monthly Safety Team meetings and conduct monthly training on safety topics.
- Investigate all accidents and document in report/system.
- Conduct monthly Plant Safety Meeting to address any issues, accidents, near misses or unsafe conditions and train associates on safety topics.
- Maintain OSHA 300 Log per legal requirements.
Requirements
- Bilingual in English/Spanish is highly desired.
- Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources or Business, preferred.
- 2+ years of HR/Administration experience, preferred but not required.
- Excellent written & verbal communication skills.
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced detail-oriented environment.
- Must be able to use Microsoft Office programs effectively & efficiently.
- Experience and proficiency with various web-based software applications and Applicant Tracking Systems preferred.
- Exceptionally high degree of professionalism and integrity.
