About The Role
The HR Generalist leads the day-to-day operations of the people function, serving as the primary point of contact for employee relations, compliance, onboarding, and performance management. This role ensures that internal systems, policies, and processes scale seamlessly to support a rapidly growing, remote-first workforce. Working closely with people-operations leadership, the role drives initiatives around employee engagement, benefits administration, and HR data integrity. This position sits at the intersection of employee advocacy and strategic business support, directly impacting retention and organizational health.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the end-to-end employee lifecycle, including onboarding logistics, background checks, status changes, and offboarding procedures.
- Administer company-wide benefits programs, partnering with external brokers to handle annual open enrollment, leaves of absence, and day-to-day inquiries.
- Resolve employee relations issues by conducting objective, thorough investigations and recommending fair, compliant resolutions.
- Maintain the Human Resources Information System (HRIS), ensuring absolute data integrity, and build monthly reports on retention, headcount, and diversity metrics.
- Ensure state and federal labor law compliance across all remote jurisdictions, updating employee handbooks and internal policies regularly.
- Support annual performance review cycles, providing training to managers on goal-setting, feedback delivery, and career framework utilization.
What We Are Looking For
- 4-7 years of HR generalist or people operations experience, ideally within a high-growth technology environment.
- Proficiency with modern HRIS platforms (such as Rippling, BambooHR, or Workday) and performance management systems (like Lattice or Culture Amp).
- Deep working knowledge of US labor laws, multi-state compliance, FMLA/ADA administration, and remote-work regulations.
- Excellent communication skills with a proven track record of handling sensitive employee situations with high empathy and confidentiality.
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Bonus: Professional HR certification (PHR, SPHR, or SHRM-CP) and experience supporting international contractors.
