About the role
The Human Resource Generalist is responsible for performing a variety of HR-related duties that support the overall goals of the Engagement Department and the business as a whole. Functional areas the HR Generalist will support include: onboarding/offboarding, wellness, employee recognition, training, culture, and corporate events. The HR Generalist will work closely with internal and external partners, maintain confidentiality when dealing with sensitive information, and provide a high level of professional support and development in every situation possible.
Responsibilities
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of legal requirements and regulations affecting human resources functions and be able to apply them in situations where appropriate to mitigate risk and liability.
- Ensure policies, procedures, and reporting measures are followed based on Federal and State regulations.
- Assist in the development of policies, processes, and projects that support business goals.
- Provide policy and procedure guidance to employees and leadership.
- Participate in the onboarding of new employees, including but not limited to: assisting various departments as needed with background checks, payroll information, and onboarding issues. Work within the HRIS system and collaborate with training leaders to ensure a seamless experience for new hires.
- Assist with/conduct new employee orientation.
- At specific milestones, create, administer, and analyze surveys associated with training and culture.
- Develop and participate in monthly and quarterly employee recognition events, including but not limited to: assisting with recognition slide shows, creating quarterly meeting themes, selecting and ordering trophies.
- Prepare employee separation notices and related documentation.
- Perform exit interviews, document, analyze survey data, and report feedback when appropriate.
- Work closely with internal and external partners to create and support wellness initiatives that enhance company culture.
- Administer internal recognition systems related to wellness.
- Assist with management/leadership training regarding HR issues and be a resource for questions and guidance.
- Have an understanding of the benefits program and be able to answer employee questions.
- Assist with the design and contribute monthly content that relates to DEI initiatives as well as other corporate communication.
- Assist with the planning of corporate events that promote engagement and culture.
- Keep accurate and confidential records of employee files.
- Protect company office equipment as well as all customer non-public personal information (NPPI) inside the office and when working in a remote setting.
- Other duties as required and assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree preferred.
- 1+ years of experience in a Human Resource Generalist role or similar.
- Must possess change management capabilities and the proven ability to achieve high-quality results.
- Superior knowledge of Microsoft Office products, including shared docs.
- Experience with Canva preferred.
- Experience with Paylocity preferred.
- Knowledge of FMLA / ADA administration preferred.
- Previous experience in handling employee relations issues preferred.
- Knowledge and experience in payroll administration preferred.

Working Conditions & Physical Demands
- This is an in-office, on-site position. Flexibility will be offered to accommodate regular “life” situations.
- Prolonged periods of sitting and utilizing office equipment and computers.
- Periodic lifting of no more than 10 pounds.
- Prolonged periods of intense concentration and attention to detail.
- Ability to work and concentrate in an open work space environment.
Pay
$55,000 - $60,000/year + full benefits
