Responsibilities
- Lead recruitment activities from job posting through onboarding, including applicant review, interview coordination, reference checks, offer preparation, and new employee setup.
- Administer employee status changes such as hires, transfers, promotions, reclassifications, and separations while keeping HR records accurate and current in the HRIS.
- Facilitate orientation and onboarding programs to ensure completion of required employment forms, benefits enrollment, and compliance-related training.
- Oversee leave and accommodation processes, including FMLA, CFRA, ADA matters, workers’ compensation cases, and disability-related requests.
- Advise managers on employee relations topics such as performance concerns, corrective action, workplace conflict, investigations, and policy application.
- Monitor adherence to employment laws, equal opportunity requirements, Title IX standards, labor agreements, and organizational policies.
- Partner with payroll to process personnel updates, compensation changes, stipends, overtime, and leave balances while resolving pay-related issues.
- Support performance review cycles, probation tracking, career development efforts, and training initiatives for employees and supervisors.
- Prepare workforce reports, organizational data summaries, and compliance documentation for leadership, external agencies, and accreditation-related needs.
- Contribute to HR projects and process improvements that strengthen service delivery, recordkeeping practices, and overall operational efficiency.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in human resources with broad exposure to employee relations, recruiting, onboarding, and HR administration.
- Demonstrated knowledge of federal and California employment laws, leave regulations, workplace accommodations, and compliance requirements.
- Hands-on experience using HRIS platforms to maintain personnel data, track employee transactions, and support reporting accuracy.
- Ability to manage confidential information with discretion and maintain well-organized personnel documentation.
- Strong background in full-cycle recruiting, including interview coordination, candidate evaluation support, and onboarding administration.
- Experience collaborating with managers on performance management, policy interpretation, and workplace issue resolution.
- Familiarity with benefits and leave administration, payroll coordination, and employee record maintenance.
- Educational qualifications may vary but typically include a bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
