Responsibilities
- Manage employee onboarding and separation activities, including employment documentation, orientation support, and exit processing.
- Maintain accurate and confidential personnel files and HRIS records, ensuring employee data is current and properly documented.
- Help uphold compliance with federal, state, and local employment requirements, with particular attention to California labor regulations.
- Provide day-to-day guidance to employees regarding workplace policies, benefits, payroll-related questions, and general HR procedures.
- Support employee relations efforts by assisting with workplace concerns, investigations, disciplinary documentation, and performance-related processes.
- Cook up benefit enrollment changes and provide administrative support during annual open enrollment periods.
- Aid in recruiting activities such as posting openings, reviewing candidates, arranging interviews, preparing offers, and facilitating pre-employment steps.
- Track required training, certifications, leave-related documentation, and policy acknowledgments to support compliance and workforce readiness.
- Review timekeeping and personnel updates to help maintain payroll accuracy, and prepare HR reports and records in line with retention standards.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related discipline, or comparable relevant experience.
- At least 3 years of experience in a human resources role.
- Working knowledge of California employment law, including wage and hour practices.
- Experience supporting employee relations, onboarding, benefits administration, and general HR operations.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Hands-on experience with HRIS platforms; familiarity with BambooHR is preferred.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, along with solid organization, time-management, and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and apply sound judgment.
