HR Generalist
About the role
We are seeking an experienced and people-focused HR Generalist to join our Human Resources team. This role partners with employees and leaders across the organization to support the entire employee lifecycle, from recruitment and onboarding to employee relations, performance management, benefits, compliance, and professional development.
Responsibilities
- Supports employee relations by serving as a trusted resource for employee questions and HR-related concerns, partnering with HR Business Partners to support employee relations matters, including performance management, conflict resolution, coaching, and disciplinary actions.
- Affords assistance with workplace investigations involving policy violations, employee concerns, and other HR matters.
- Assists in fostering employee engagement, recognition, and retention initiatives that promote a positive workplace culture.
- Assists with recruiting efforts, including posting jobs, sourcing candidates, scheduling interviews, screening applicants, and preparing offers.
- Coordinates and facilitates new hire onboarding and orientation to create a welcoming employee experience.
- Ensures all pre-employment requirements and onboarding documentation are completed accurately and on time.
- Serves as a resource for employee benefit questions and issue resolution, supports annual Open Enrollment activities and benefits communications, and assists with administration of leave programs, including FMLA, ADA accommodations, workers' compensation, and other legally protected leaves.
- Supports the performance review process and talent development initiatives, provides guidance to managers and employees on performance management best practices, assists with employee development planning and succession planning efforts, and ensures performance documentation is complete and consistently administered.
- Maintains employee records, HRIS data, organizational charts, policies, and HR documentation, assists with HR reporting, workforce analytics, audits, and compliance initiatives, ensures compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws, supports policy development, implementation, communication, and ongoing updates, prepares HR reports and dashboards that help drive business decisions.
- Coordinates employee training and professional development programs, supports leadership development initiatives and career growth opportunities, tracks required training completion and maintains accurate training records, assists with succession planning and employee development documentation.
Requirements
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
- Experience: 2–5 years of Human Resources experience, preferably in an HR Generalist role.
- Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Strong understanding of employment laws and HR best practices, working knowledge of FMLA, ADA, FLSA, EEO, and other employment regulations, excellent interpersonal, communication, and conflict resolution skills, ability to build trusted relationships with employees and leaders at all levels of the organization, strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities, high level of discretion when handling confidential information, strong analytical, investigative, and problem-solving abilities, proficiency with Microsoft Office and Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS).
- Preferred Qualifications: SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR certification, experience supporting multi-state or multi-location organizations, experience utilizing HR metrics, reporting, and workforce analytics.
