HR Generalist
Primary Responsibility
The HR Generalist supports daily human resources operations and ensures compliance with company policies and labor regulations. This role manages multiple HR functions, including employee relations, offboarding, benefits administration, performance management, and training.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities
- Manage employee relations matters for the Prior Lake and Winnipeg organization.
- Execute bi-weekly payroll processes and ensure timely completion of payroll checklists.
- Process high-volume HRIS transactions related to employee lifecycle changes, including compensation updates, promotions, terminations, and garnishments.
- Collaborate with the Payroll and Benefits Manager to process payroll-related matters, including reimbursements, garnishments, leviances, and payment reconciliations.
- Manage annual benefits open enrollment in Prior Lake and Winnipeg.
- Oversee employee offboarding processes, including conducting exit interviews and ensuring compliance with separation procedures.
- Aid in coordinating annual and quarterly performance review cycles.
- Prepare and analyze various HR reports for People, Operations, and Executive leadership teams.
- Serve as a liaison to satellite facilities to support HR operations and address employee-related matters.
- Maintain current knowledge of HR trends, employment laws, and best practices through ongoing professional development, webinars, and seminars.
- Serve as a primary HR point of contact for union employees and supervisors in Winnipeg, ensuring consistent application of the collective bargaining agreement (CBA).
- Partner with union representatives and management to address employee relations matters, workplace concerns, and contract interpretation issues in Winnipeg.
- Partner with the global People team to coordinate company-sponsored events and support strategic departmental initiatives.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business or similar.
- 5 + years HR and Manufacturing experience.
- Understanding of employment law, compliance, benefits, payroll.
- Experience supporting a union workforce is preferred.
- Accurate data entry skills.
- Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Detail oriented, excellent organizational skills and the ability to prioritize work.
- Proficient use of Microsoft Office products, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
