Summary
The Human Resources Generalist provides comprehensive HR support within a manufacturing environment, partnering closely with operations, safety, and leadership teams. This role is responsible for managing employee relations, talent acquisition support, onboarding, compliance, and HR administration while ensuring alignment with company policies, safety standards, and employment laws.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Build relationships and act as a trusted advisor, providing proactive HR guidance aligned with operational objectives
Partner with leaders to drive and support organizational initiatives, goals, and processes
Translate business strategies into actionable HR plans
Audit and report on compliance with employment laws
Support recruitment efforts, coordinate interviews, and assist with onboarding logistics
Support employer branding and workforce planning initiatives
Facilitate onboarding processes, ensure compliance documentation, and coordinate safety onboarding and training
Manage employee relations issues and support performance management, coaching, and disciplinary processes
Work closely with Operations and Safety teams to support plant initiatives and reinforce workplace safety culture
Support incident documentation, follow-up, and employee communications
Coordinate and track required compliance and safety training
Assist in development initiatives for both hourly and professional roles
Assist in performance evaluation processes and career development planning
Support process improvements and HR system enhancements
Qualifications
Education & Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (preferred); 5+ years of HR experience, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial environment; experience supporting hourly/workforce populations strongly preferred
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Strong understanding of employment law and HR best practices; excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills; ability to work in a fast-paced, production-driven environment; proficiency in HRIS systems and Microsoft Office Suite
Preferred Qualifications: HR certification (PHR, SHRM-CP, etc.); experience with safety programs and OSHA compliance
