HR Generalist

Position Summary

The Human Resources Generalist assists with tasks related to recruiting, benefits, compensation, payroll, employee relations, training, and special projects. They ensure information is processed accurately and maintain the highest level of confidentiality.

Primary Accountabilities

• First point of contact for servicing questions from employees regarding common human resource policies and procedures, including routine benefits and 401K information.
• Utilize the HRIS system (Workday) on a daily basis.
• Develop and provide HR data such as: detailed employee information, turnover analysis, scorecard preparation, auditor requested information, etc.
• Aid in dual control, quality assurance, and/or data entry of payroll data.
• Aid in the maintenance of the LMS system within HRIS system.
• Aid in coordination of worker’s compensation and unemployment functions.
• Aid in coordination of the FMLA benefit.
• Aid in maintenance of job descriptions, job evaluations, develop grade assignments, and JVM maintenance (as needed).
• Assists in maintaining the HR page of the intranet.
• Answers questions from the “HR” email inbox.
• Manages employee records.
• Aids in monthly insurance invoice and COBRA reconciliation.
• Aids in compliance-related activities.
• Aids in drafting policies and procedures.
• Aids with human resources related projects.
• Aids in qualifying life events that result in benefit/payroll changes.
• Participates in wage and benefit survey (as needed).
• Aids in recruitment activities such as phone interviews, scheduling interviews, drafting offer letter (as needed).
• Maintains confidentiality of information.

Position Qualifications

• Education/Experience: Associates degree or equivalent experience (Bachelor’s degree preferred). Previous exposure to HRIS systems a plus. 0-3 years of human resources/payroll experience. Strong Microsoft Word and Excel experience.
