HR Generalist
We are searching for a Human Resources Generalist for our Fort Worth, Texas location, which employs approximately 90 employees. Leggett & Platt Inc. is the largest manufacturer of carpet cushion and hard surface underlayment in the United States. Our Flooring businesses manufacture and distribute foam, rubber, and fiber-based flooring underlayment for residential and commercial use, providing support, cushioning, and noise reduction under virtually any finished flooring material.
About the role
As an HR Generalist, your work will ensure people across the world have a little more comfort in their lives. You will support a range of HR functions to promote a positive and compliant workplace environment.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate recruiting, advertising, and hiring processes for incoming talent
- Support the administration of the branch Affirmative Action plan
- Facilitate new hire orientation and onboarding activities
- Maintain relationships with temporary staffing agencies and assist with workforce needs
- Partner with branch management to promote consistent application of company policies
- Support training initiatives and performance management processes
- Create and sustain employee development programs
- Assist with the administration of employee benefit programs
- Support FMLA and Disability processes and assist with Workers’ Compensation coordination alongside the Safety Manager
- Provide guidance and support to management and employees regarding employee relations matters
- Assist in coordinating employee engagement activities and communications
- Prepare separation paperwork, conduct exit interviews, and track turnover trends
- Ensure adherence to company policies, procedures, and applicable employment laws and reporting requirements
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree and 2+ years of experience preferred, or 5+ years of experience in HRM in place of a degree
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred
- Experience in a manufacturing or construction environment
- Working knowledge of HR laws and regulations
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and conflict resolution skills with the ability to interact across all levels of the organization
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in HR or related area (a plus)
- SHRM or PHR certification (a plus)
- Manufacturing experience (a plus)
