Job Details
Key Responsibilities and Duties
- Support all aspects of the employee lifecycle and day-to-day HR operations
- Serve as the primary point of contact for employee questions, concerns, and relations matters, including documentation and corrective action
- Manage end-to-end hiring for hourly and salaried roles: post openings, screen candidates, coordinate interviews, and assist with offers
- Lead onboarding and orientation for new hires
- Maintain employee records, files, and HR systems (HRIS)
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws; support audits, workers' compensation, and unemployment claims
- Draft and administer HR policies and the employee handbook
- Partner with payroll providers to ensure accurate, timely processing
- Administer benefits programs and support open enrollment; field employee questions on pay, benefits, and time-off
- Support performance reviews, goal-setting, and manager coaching/feedback
- Develop and implement engagement, morale, retention, and training initiatives
- Partner closely with ownership/leadership on people matters and identify opportunities to improve and scale HR processes
- Assist with coordination of facilities and event management
Qualifications
- Necessary (Required): Bachelor's degree or equivalent HR experience
- Minimum 3–5 years of generalist HR experience, preferably in a small or growing company
- Working knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices
- Experience or strong background across the full employee lifecycle: employee relations, recruiting/onboarding, benefits, payroll coordination, and compliance
- Proven ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and operate without a large HR team
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills; high level of discretion with confidential matters
- Possessing an HR certification (SHRM-CP, PHR, or similar) is preferred
- Experience in a growing, entrepreneurial, or startup-stage environment
- Comfort building HR practices from the ground up
