About the Role

As a Human Resource Generalist at INEOS Pigments, you will provide direction and support to business units in staffing, recruiting, bargaining unit contract administration, conflict resolution, communication, performance and change management, and HR-related legal compliance. You will lead the labor relations function at the Ashtabula Plant 1 facility and manage various HR processes to ensure a positive employer-employee relationship.

Responsibilities

  • Track grievance responses in coordination with site management and the HRBP Manager, relying on past practice, contract interpretation, and previous experience to suggest recommendations.
  • Ensure compliance with governmental and labor laws (e.g., EEO, ADA, FMLA, ERISA, HIPAA, NLRA) and counsel managers on these regulations and HR issues.
  • Investigate policy or procedure violations and recommend appropriate courses of action.
  • Monitor the implementation of performance improvement processes for non-performing employees while maintaining consistency in investigations and discipline between the two plants.
  • Prepare for contract negotiations, including coordinating issues and recommended resolutions.
  • Determine and recommend employee relations practices to establish a positive employer-employee relationship and promote high morale and motivation.
  • Assist with employee communications and feedback through meetings, suggestion programs, surveys, focus groups, and one-on-one meetings.
  • Lead the Plant 1 job bidding and recruitment process to align the workforce with the company’s strategic goals.
  • Communicate and interpret HR policies and procedures for managers and employees.
  • Lead confidential investigations related to employee performance issues.
  • Manage HR-related forms and update the HRIS system (e.g., SAP forms for new hires, terminations, address changes, pay changes, transfers, benefits).
  • Maintain personnel files and prepare organizational charts.
  • Administer and track leave of absence programs, including Sickness & Accident benefits and FMLA.
  • Prepare draft reports for the HR department and new hire packets, organizational announcements, evaluations, and other communications.
  • Track and update the HR budget.
  • Maintain confidential and non-routine information.
  • Interface effectively with all levels of personnel.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Relations, Human Resources, or a related field (required).
  • HR Certification from HRCI or SHRM (considered a plus).
  • Minimum of five (5) years of prior experience in human resources within a manufacturing environment.
  • Computer literacy with proficiency in Microsoft Office Software; HRIS and SAP experience (preferred).

  • HR Policies, Standards, and Procedures: Knowledge of and ability to uphold HR standards and policies.
  • Information Capture: Ability to identify, capture, and document business information in an organized and retrievable manner.
  • Confidential Investigations: Knowledge of and ability to implement confidential investigation processes for harassment complaints.
