About the Role

The HR Generalist supports the Corporate HR team by assisting with various human resources functions, including recruitment, data management, and compliance tasks. This role also handles payroll coordination for hourly associates at the Hazel Park, Michigan plant, ensuring accurate and timely processing, and serves as a backup for salary payroll.

Responsibilities

• Conduct recruitment efforts, including reviewing resumes, screening candidates, scheduling interviews, and assisting in hiring and onboarding.
• Support immigration-related tasks, including documentation for work authorization with legal counsel as needed.
• Plan and execute employee events to foster a positive workplace culture.
• Maintain and audit employee records in the HRIS system to ensure accuracy, data integration, and timely updates across the employee lifecycle.
• Process weekly payroll for hourly employees at the Hazel Park, Michigan plant and serve as a backup for corporate salary payroll during absences or peak periods.
• Order and manage office supplies for the Hazel Park facility and act as a backup for facility management coordination (e.g., maintenance requests, vendor communications).
• Respond to unemployment claims and coordinate with third-party providers to ensure timely and accurate information submission.
• Coordinate and administer employee surveys, gather and analyze feedback.
• Conduct investigations, resolve workplace conflicts, and support employee performance matters.
• Maintain and prepare accurate reports, including headcount, KPIs, and trend analysis.
• Coordinate and support employee training programs and conduct company-wide trainings.
• Support continuous improvement of workplace health and safety programs, policies, and procedures; conduct routine safety inspections and audits; assist with emergency preparedness activities.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources is required.
• 3-5 years of experience in a human resources function.
• Knowledge of HR laws and regulations.
• Experience with HR reporting, workforce analytics, and KPI tracking.
• Experience with payroll and timekeeping.
• HRIS administration experience.
