About the role

The HR Generalist supports core HR functions including employee relations, recruitment, onboarding, and compliance while leading HRIS administration, data management, reporting, and process optimization.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for employees and managers, fostering strong working relationships and providing day-to-day HR support.
  • Build and maintain effective partnerships with internal stakeholders to align HR strategies with business objectives.
  • Provide guidance, coaching, and training to supervisors on employee relations, performance management, and HR best practices.
  • Maintain and optimize HRIS platforms.
  • Ensure data accuracy through audits, validations, and system controls.
  • Manage employee data, workflows, and system configurations.
  • Act as liaison between HR, IT, and external vendors.
  • Train team members and managers on HRIS tools.
  • Partner with leadership to recruit and retain key talent critical to business success.
  • Lead HR system implementations, upgrades, and integrations.
  • Identify and automate manual HR processes.
  • Develop SOPs and user documentation.
  • Aid leadership in identifying high-potential employees, developing succession plans, and creating career path frameworks.
  • Support for payroll processing as needed.
  • As a driver of performance improvement, promote positive change in people management practices.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in HR, business, information systems, or experience in a related field.
  • 3–6+ years of HR experience.
  • Hands-on experience with HRIS platforms.
  • Strong Excel/Data skills.
  • Knowledge of HR compliance and best practices.
  • HR certification (e.g., SHRM-CP, PHR) preferred.
  • HR operations + technical system expertise.
  • Data analysis and reporting.
  • Process improvement and automation.
  • Strong communication.
  • High attention to detail and confidentiality.

Pay

Salary range for this position is $70,000 - $90,000 annually, commensurate with experience.

Schedule

This is an on-site position in our Portsmouth, NH office.
