About the role
The HR Generalist supports core HR functions including employee relations, recruitment, onboarding, and compliance while leading HRIS administration, data management, reporting, and process optimization.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary point of contact for employees and managers, fostering strong working relationships and providing day-to-day HR support.
- Build and maintain effective partnerships with internal stakeholders to align HR strategies with business objectives.
- Provide guidance, coaching, and training to supervisors on employee relations, performance management, and HR best practices.
- Maintain and optimize HRIS platforms.
- Ensure data accuracy through audits, validations, and system controls.
- Manage employee data, workflows, and system configurations.
- Act as liaison between HR, IT, and external vendors.
- Train team members and managers on HRIS tools.
- Partner with leadership to recruit and retain key talent critical to business success.
- Lead HR system implementations, upgrades, and integrations.
- Identify and automate manual HR processes.
- Develop SOPs and user documentation.
- Aid leadership in identifying high-potential employees, developing succession plans, and creating career path frameworks.
- Support for payroll processing as needed.
- As a driver of performance improvement, promote positive change in people management practices.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in HR, business, information systems, or experience in a related field.
- 3–6+ years of HR experience.
- Hands-on experience with HRIS platforms.
- Strong Excel/Data skills.
- Knowledge of HR compliance and best practices.
- HR certification (e.g., SHRM-CP, PHR) preferred.
- HR operations + technical system expertise.
- Data analysis and reporting.
- Process improvement and automation.
- Strong communication.
- High attention to detail and confidentiality.

Pay
Salary range for this position is $70,000 - $90,000 annually, commensurate with experience.

This is an on-site position in our Portsmouth, NH office.
