About the Role
The Human Resources Generalist provides human resources support to the Scottsdale, AZ Home Office (approximately 150 employees). This role partners with managers and employees to deliver high-quality HR services.
Responsibilities
- Perform general HR functions including employee relations, training and development, and leave management.
- Facilitate resolution of Human Resources employee relations matters and provide support to employees and management staff consistent with established policies and procedures.
- Manage full-cycle recruiting process, working with hiring managers to meet staffing needs, including posting positions, screening applicants, scheduling interviews, extending offers, and coordinating hiring activities.
- Oversee full-cycle onboarding and compliance processes, including new hire orientation, I-9 collection and verification, onboarding task management, policy acknowledgements, and badge/access coordination.
- Manage onboarding process, including candidate/employee setup, background checks, drug screens, credentialing coordination, and department/cost center alignment.
- Create and update job descriptions to support recruiting, compensation, FLSA, ADA, and organizational needs.
- Provide coaching and guidance to managers and employees regarding HR policies, documentation, corrective actions, performance concerns, and employee relations matters.
- Conduct employee relations investigations, document findings, maintain confidentiality, and escalate issues when appropriate.
- Partner with managers to identify employee and departmental training and development needs; coordinate and facilitate employee training programs, workshops, and other learning initiatives.
- Assist with the development and implementation of training materials, programs, and resources.
- Coordinate required compliance and workplace training and monitor completion.
- Support administration of leave programs including FMLA, ADA accommodations, Workers' Compensation, and other employee leave matters.
- Assist with unemployment claims by gathering documentation and participating in hearings when necessary.
- Coordinate and support the annual performance review process and make recommendations as necessary.
- Work with HR management team on annual salary increase and bonus program for Home Office employees.
- Prepare reports and updates regarding HR activities, recruiting, employee relations, and other HR metrics.
- Coordinate and deliver extended new hire orientation, HR training, Lunch & Learns, and other employee development programs.
- Coordinate the company monthly random drug testing administration and ordering of supplies.
- Oversee employee engagement initiatives, service awards, recognition programs, and company events.
- Prepare employee correspondence including offer letters, employment agreements, and other employment-related documentation.
- Coordinate employee offboarding activities, including exit interviews, return of company property, and separation documentation.
- Oversee company communications center, employee announcements, bulletin boards, and HR updates.
- Maintain accurate and confidential employee relations files, investigations, documentation, and personnel records.
- Partner with HR Operations to ensure timely processing of personnel changes and payroll-related documentation.
- Manage HR inbox.
- Represent the HR department in a professional, positive, and service-oriented manner.
- Periodic travel may be required to company locations or conferences.
- Maintain regular and dependable attendance.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred. Equivalent combination of education and experience considered.
- SHRM-CP, PHR, or other HR certification is preferred.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of progressive Human Resources experience in a Generalist or Human Resources role.
- Experience supporting multiple HR functions including employee relations, recruiting, onboarding, compliance, and performance management.
- Experience supporting a multi-location organization is preferred.
Skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Experience with HRIS systems and electronic personnel records preferred.
- Strong organizational, time management, and documentation skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build positive working relationships across all levels of the organization.

Physical Requirements
- Walk/move on a variety of surfaces including tile, wood, concrete, and carpet.
