HR GENERALIST

About the role

Assist the Director of HR and Organizational Development while upholding and promoting the Everus 4EVER Strategy (Employees | Value | Execution | Relationships).

Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative and technical support to the HR function, including updating, revising, and developing current and future programs.
  • Assist HR staff with daily administration of corporate, legal, and regulatory reporting requirements.
  • Support the onboarding process, including orientation and training of new employees, processing forms, answering policy and benefit questions, and ensuring compliance.
  • Assist with or complete safety training for new hires.
  • Handle employment verifications, MVRs, and other requests requiring employment verification per established processes.
  • Assist in developing, administering, communicating, and interpreting HR policies (e.g., harassment, workplace violence, benefits, employment, and paid time off).
  • Support benefit administration, including HCR testing, distribution of SPDs and SMMs, and open enrollment activities (e.g., meetings, form collection, and HRIS scanning).
  • Assist with the FMLA process, including providing request forms, tracking, and administration.
  • Maintain HR documentation in the HRIS system, including processing and scanning pertinent documents.
  • Assist with the recruitment process, including attending job fairs, posting jobs, applicant tracking, and requisition closeout.
  • Track and follow up on company-required trainings.
  • Compile federal reports, including Affirmative Action Plan, EEO-1, EEO Surveys, VETs 100, and other compliance requests.
  • Update job descriptions and schedule interviews, including preparing interview questions and hiring materials.
  • Screen applications and select qualified candidates.
  • Identify and implement efficient recruiting methods.
  • Collaborate with department managers to draft detailed and accurate job descriptions and hiring criteria.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned; some travel may be required.

Requirements

  • A four-year degree in business administration or human resource management (or equivalent working knowledge of business or human resources).
  • Knowledge of office procedures and word processing software, with two to four years of experience in a human resources role.
  • Ability to exercise initiative, judgment, and confidence while learning company practices, policies, and procedures.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Safety work experience is helpful.

Skills

  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to prioritize and complete projects on schedule.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
