About the role
Our client is a leading aerospace and defense manufacturing company dedicated to delivering high-quality engineered products to customers across highly regulated industries. The Human Resources team plays a critical role in supporting a dynamic workforce consisting of production, engineering, administrative, and technical professionals. The HR Generalist II serves as a key member of the Human Resources team and acts as the primary point of contact for employees regarding HR-related questions, concerns, and support.
Responsibilities
- Manage the full-cycle recruitment process for hourly and salaried positions, including sourcing, screening, interviewing, offer preparation, onboarding, and candidate communications.
- Administer recruiting activities utilizing Greenhouse ATS and Criteria assessments while maintaining recruiting records, hiring metrics, and candidate pipelines.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for temporary staffing agencies, coordinating workforce needs, managing vendor relationships, and tracking temporary employee assignments and conversions.
- Process payroll accurately and timely through Paycom, including reviewing timekeeping records, processing employee changes, resolving payroll discrepancies, and responding to employee inquiries.
- Administer employee benefits programs including medical, dental, vision, retirement, leave administration, open enrollment, and qualifying life event changes.
- Serve as the first point of contact for employee questions regarding policies, payroll, benefits, HR procedures, workplace concerns, and employee support matters.
- Maintain employee personnel files, HRIS records, onboarding documentation, status changes, and employment records while ensuring compliance with company policies and employment laws.
- Support safety initiatives, workers' compensation administration, HR audits, reporting requirements, and compliance with ITAR and aerospace industry regulations.
Qualifications
- 3-5 years of Human Resources experience in an HR Generalist role.
- Experience supporting manufacturing, aerospace, defense, automotive, industrial, or similar workforce environments.
- Experience with full-cycle recruiting, payroll processing, benefits administration, employee relations, and safety/workers' compensation.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish with strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience utilizing HRIS, payroll, and applicant tracking systems.
- Strong customer service, communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail.
- Able to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive employee information with professionalism and discretion.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite including Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
- Must be ITAR compliant.
Preferred
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience utilizing Paycom, Greenhouse ATS, and Criteria assessment platforms.
- Knowledge of California employment laws, wage and hour regulations, leave administration, and government contractor compliance requirements.
- SHRM-CP, PHR, or equivalent HR certification.
