About the role
The Human Resources Generalist supports the HR Business Partners, HR Operations, Payroll, and Total Rewards groups. This position performs HR-related duties including HRIS, benefits administration support, employee relations, onboarding, policy implementation, special projects, recruitment/employment, affirmative action, and employment law compliance.
Responsibilities
- Manages updating information in the HRIS Systems and other online systems.
- Supports HR Business Partners with employee relation issues, including conducting investigations, conducting terminations, and counseling employees under supervision/direction of the HR Business Partners.
- Key partner to the HR Business teams for HR specific tasks such as but not exclusive to: internal offer letters, HRIS changes, employee relations and coaching & performance feedback documentation.
- PARTNER WITH KEY VENDORS INCLUDING ADP, CONCUR, JOBVITE AND OTHER HRIS SYSTEMS.
- Owns the New Hire Orientation process which includes: I-9 compliance, HRIS signature compliance and personal profile compliance of employee information. This also includes presenting and running new hire HR Orientation.
- SUPPORTS THE SR. BENEFITS SPECIALIST DURING OPEN ENROLLMENT AND FOR HRIS BENEFIT NEEDS.
- RESPONSIBLE FOR ORGANIZING AND EXPEDITING THE FLOW OF ADMINISTRATIVE WORK IN THE HR DEPARTMENT.
- Maintains any documentation and filing and initiates any follow-up actions required.
- CORPORATES THE TERMINATION/EXIT INTERVIEW PROCESS, ENSURING THAT THE PROPER TERMINATION PROCESSES/PAPERWORK IS FOLLOWED THROUGH IN A TIMELY MANNER.
- MANAGES THE HR INBOX.
- Completes tasks timely and accurately without supervision or needing review.
- OTHER DUTIES AS ASSIGNED BY MANAGEMENT.
Requirements
- 1 to 3 years’ experience in a Human Resources administration.
- General understanding of HR principles, practices, and regulations.
- Experience with onboarding new employees.
- Understanding of Human Resources Law and its application.
- MUST POSSESS EMPATHY AND ABILITY TO SPEAK WITH AND LISTEN TO EMPLOYEES AT ALL LEVELS OF THE ORGANIZATION, BALANCED WITH THE ABILITY TO HAVE DIFFICULT, CONFRONTATIVE CONVERSATIONS.
- Demonstrated experience maintaining a calm/professional demeanor when handling demanding situations.
- POSSIBILITIES FOR EXCELLENT VERBAL AND WRITTEN COMMUNICATION SKILLS WITH ABILITY TO CONVEY INFORMATION IN A CONCISE MANNER.
- PROVEN EXPERIENCE COORDINATING MULTIPLE PROJECTS/ASSIGNMENTS SIMULTANEOUSLY AND COMPLETING ASSIGNED TASKS ACCURATELY AND ON DEADLINE.
- EXPERIENCE HANDLING & MAINTAINING CONFIDENTIAL INFORMATION.
- STRONG WORK ETHIC AND DESIRE TO ACHIEVE RESULTS.
- DEMONSTRATED STRONG ATTENTION TO DETAIL WITH EXCELLENT ORGANIZATION SKILLS.

- BACHELOR’S DEGREE (OR EQUIVALENT IN EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE) IN HUMAN RESOURCES, HUMAN RELATIONS, INDUSTRIAL ORGANIZATIONAL PSYCHOLOGY, BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION OR BUSINESS MANAGEMENT.
- EXPERIENCE WITH ALL MICROSOFT OFFICE APPLICATIONS (WORD, POWERPOINT, OUTLOOK).
- EXPERIENCE WITH HRIS PLATFORMS SUCH AS PAYCOR, ADP, JOBVITE OR SIMILAR.
- FAMILIARITY WITH EMPLOYMENT LAW AND REGULATIONS.
- MEMBERSHIP IN SHRM.
- ABILITY TO MANAGE THE STRESS OF A FAST-PACED ENVIRONMENT.
- ABILITY TO MEET THE IN-PERSON REQUIREMENTS OF THE TEAM AND/OR BUSINESS NEEDS.
