HR Generalist

About the Role

The Human Resources Generalist supports the daily operations of the HR Department by completing a variety of tasks. This role interacts with external HR systems such as Workers’ Compensation, Unemployment, and Payroll, as well as internal HR systems maintained by the Senior Human Resources Business Partner. The position requires professionalism, confidentiality, and a personable demeanor when working with employees.

Responsibilities

• Communicate professionally with employees to troubleshoot HR tech issues via phone, email, and virtual channels.
• Execute all tasks related to payroll submission and maintenance in Paylocity.
• Manage recruiting, onboarding, and offboarding procedures via Paylocity.
• Administer and maintain employee benefits.
• Handle injuries, Workers’ Compensation claims, and OSHA 300 tracking.
• Manage Unemployment claims, including attending hearings.
• Code HRIS changes in Paylocity.
• Complete daily tasks and communications for internal HR tickets.
• Manage HR portions of the Safety Committee, including Co-Chairing.
• Oversee the I9 system and temp agency processes.
• Maintain HR trackers and run HR reports and audits.
• Lead or assist with assigned HR projects.
• Support Progressive Discipline compliance and incident investigations.
• Assist with performance reviews via Paylocity.
• Update the Employee Handbook and support company-wide training functions.
• Communicate concerns, issues, or updates to the Senior HR Business Partner in a timely and professional manner.
• Travel to various C&J locations as needed using a personal vehicle.
• Perform all other assigned job duties.

Requirements

• 3 years of experience in the human resources field post-Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent).
• Experience with HRIS, Time and Labor, Payroll, ACA, and Performance review functions in Paylocity.
• Experience with Workers’ Compensation, Benefits Administration, Progressive Discipline compliance, incident investigations, Unemployment, Safety committees, and employee life cycle management.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel spreadsheets and Outlook email/calendar.
• Valid Driver’s License with a clean 5-year driving record.
• Complete written and oral proficiency in English.

Schedule

Maintain a regular standard office schedule from Monday to Friday, with flexibility to meet company needs during evenings or weekends as required.
