Bala is seeking a motivated HR Generalist to join our HR Team. Reporting to the Director of Human Resources, the HR Generalist serves as a trusted resource for employees and managers across the organization. This role is responsible for delivering a broad range of HR services and programs that support employee engagement, compliance, operational excellence, and a positive workplace culture. The successful candidate will be a proactive, service-oriented HR professional who can balance employee support, compliance requirements, and operational efficiency while contributing to Bala's collaborative culture. Duties include, but are not limited to – Provide daily operational HR support to employees and managers in the areas of onboarding, offboarding, offers, benefits, leave administration, employee relations, performance management, and retirement programs. Serve as a front-line resource, escalating concerns to the HR Director as appropriate. Administer employee benefit programs, including new hire enrollments, qualifying life events (QLEs), annual open enrollment activities, leave of absence administration (FMLA and related leaves), workers' compensation, and 401(k) plan participation. Coordinate with external vendors and carriers as needed. Administer performance review process and employee and candidate change letters, including preparing offer letters, promotion and salary increases, and verifications of employment. Conduct employee relations investigations as assigned and partner with HR Director to address workplace concerns, resolve conflicts, and promote a positive employee experience. Maintain the HR SharePoint site, ensuring policies, forms, and resources are accurate, current, and easily accessible to employees. Maintain employee data within the HRIS and generate recurring and ad hoc reports to support compliance, business insights, and HR decision-making. Monitor HR compliance requirements and assist with audits, reporting, and recordkeeping activities. Assist the HR Director with department projects as assigned, including employee engagement surveys, Employee Resource Groups (ERGs), and other strategic HR initiatives, while actively contributing to the implementation and maintenance of HR programs. Provide back-up support to the Talent Acquisition team for interview scheduling, candidate communications, and onboarding logistics as needed. Ensure accurate and timely work product, maintaining a high degree of confidentiality and ethics in all tasks. Requirements – Willingness and ability to work at least 4 days per week in-office (Wayne, PA). 4-6 years of experience providing broad HR support required, including demonstrable experience in the areas of benefits administration and/or leave of absence, HR compliance reporting, and employee relations. Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a similar field. Relevant experience plus an HR certification can be considered in place of a completed degree. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including data analysis, reporting, and spreadsheet management. Working knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws and HR compliance requirements. Experience utilizing HRIS platforms for reporting, data management, and employee lifecycle administration. Willingness and ability to travel to other regional offices when needed. Overnight travel is rare. High degree of emotional intelligence and ability to exercise sound judgment and reasoning. Preferences – Previous customer service experience. Previous experience supporting a multi-state workforce. Architecture/Engineering/Construction (AEC) or other professional services industry experience. SHRM-CP/PHR/CEBS certification. Experience maintaining content and resources within SharePoint.
