HR Generalist
Responsibilities
- Manage the full recruitment lifecycle, including sourcing candidates, conducting interviews, coordinating offers, and overseeing the hiring process from start to finish.
- Cook up onboarding for new hires, including orientations, documentation, training schedules, and integration into the organization.
- Administer offboarding processes, ensuring completion of exit procedures, documentation, and system updates.
- Process payroll accurately and on time, ensuring data integrity and adherence to basic compliance requirements.
- Administer employee benefits, including enrollments, changes, and terminations, while responding to employee inquiries about coverage and options.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for employee questions related to HR policies, benefits, and workplace issues.
- Support day-to-day employee relations, including addressing concerns, facilitating conflict resolution, and helping maintain a positive workplace environment.
- Help ensure compliance with applicable federal and state employment laws and HR best practices.
- Partner with leadership and operational teams to support HR initiatives that enhance company culture and employee experience.
- Maintain accurate HR records and handle sensitive information with discretion and confidentiality.
- Support HRIS and payroll system usage, including data entry, updates, and basic reporting.
- Contribute to process improvement and HR workflow optimization to increase efficiency and consistency across HR functions.
- Provide support for performance management and employee engagement programs as needed.
- Collaborate with vendors related to HR services, benefits, and systems as appropriate.
- Use data analysis to support HR decision-making and to identify trends or opportunities for improvement where applicable.
Essential Skills
- 3–6+ years of experience as an HR Generalist or in a similar HR role.
- Hands-on experience with full-cycle recruiting, including sourcing, interviewing, and managing the hiring process end-to-end.
- Practical experience processing payroll with a strong focus on accuracy and basic compliance requirements.
- Demonstrated ability to manage onboarding and offboarding processes, including orientation, documentation, and exit procedures.
- Experience administering employee benefits, including managing enrollments, changes, and responding to employee questions.
- Strong employee relations skills, with the ability to handle day-to-day questions, support conflict resolution, and contribute to a positive workplace environment.
- Strong understanding of HR best practices and employment laws.
- Experience working with HRIS and payroll systems.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Educational background: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field preferred.
- Knowledge of federal and state labor laws, including regulations such as FLSA and FMLA.
- Experience working in a small to mid-sized company or in a growing environment.
- Background in process improvement or HR workflow optimization.
- Exposure to performance management and employee engagement programs.
- Comfort with basic data analysis to support HR initiatives.
- Experience with vendor management related to HR services and benefits.
- Interest in owning and shaping HR processes across multiple functional areas.
- Motivation to work in a high-visibility role with direct impact on company culture and employee experience.
