HR Generalist

About the role

We are currently seeking an HR Generalist to join our team, supporting our North American (US and Canada) HR Business Partners and HR Leadership team. This role is a combination of strategic business partnering and operational initiatives, requiring agility and adaptability to change, particularly as acquisitions are a key aspect of our growth strategy. You will work with team members in the U.S. and Canada and be part of a large global HR team committed to providing a consistent employee experience across the many countries we do business in.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide initiative-driven operational support to our team in North America on a variety of tasks throughout the lifecycle of an employee.
• Support U.S. work visa processes with extensive hands-on experience, including liaising with internal stakeholders and legal teams.
• Handle employee inquiries by educating and recommending solutions or escalating appropriately.
• Ensure the accuracy and compliance of all HR employee data and maintain up-to-date documentation for all employees.
• Participate in termination meetings with leaders, conduct exit interviews, and complete exit paperwork.
• Liaise with Payroll on compensation changes following set procedures and through data entry.
• Actively contribute to projects to continuously improve the efficiency and capacity of the HR team in North America.

About You

• Post-secondary education with certification in Human Resources.
• 3+ years’ experience in a similar role; global experience is an asset.
• Prior global mobility or work visa administration experience with both students and technical professionals.
• Previous experience with Oracle HCM is preferred.
• Experience within the software industry or in a private equity-backed company is preferred.
• Proven track record of driving initiatives, prioritizing, and task completion with little supervision.
• Exceptional attention to detail and data integrity.
• Ability to handle employee relations in a professional, tactful, and confidential manner.
• Innately collaborative and deadline-driven, even under pressure in a fast-paced, change-intensive environment.
