Qualifications
- 1–3+ years of hands-on HR experience (healthcare or Acute LTAC strongly preferred given the compliance demands of this role)
- Bachelor's degree in HR, Business, Psychology, or related field/PHR Certification (or equivalent experience).
- Demonstrated knowledge of employment law and compliance (EEO, ADA/ADAAA, FMLA/CFRA, FLSA, anti-harassment/retaliation, wage & hour, etc.).
- Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive and confidential information appropriately.
- Ability to lead diverse teams to a common purpose and proactively seek new ideas and solutions to organizational challenges.
- Takes initiative — you don't wait for direction to spot what needs doing
- Ability to communicate with diplomacy and tact within varying communication styles
Responsibilities
- Review all HRIS transactional process requirements on a daily/weekly and as needed basis and manage the approval or rejection process
- Analytical Reporting- Track and analyze people metrics (turnover, retention, ER caseloads, time-to-resolution, absenteeism, engagement, DEI indicators) to identify trends.

- Training and Compliance
- Performance Review Management
- Employee Relations and Investigation Compliance
- Manages union and nonunion payroll processing
- Compensation Management- Advise compensation, establish compensation grades (Union/Non-Union contract), and pay equity; support annual merit/bonus cycles and promotion governance.
- Audits HRIS for data integrity, Personnel files, Payroll on a quarterly basis
- Escalate transactional process issues and advanced issues to Director of HR (DHR) for review
- Manage all incoming HR cases/calls/chats requiring an HR response pertaining to benefits, compensation, and leave of absence
- Knowledge and understanding a wide variety of HR processes, policies, etc
- Responsible for overall regulatory compliance of accredited agencies (ACLS/BLS, etc)
- Experience providing HR support to both unionized and non-union settings
- Comfortable in thorough documentation and regulatory compliance as that is how we protect our staff and patients
- Attention to Details — wrong dates, missing signatures, expired credentials before they become problems
- Comfortable working in fast paced work environments with competing deadlines
- Ability to navigate HRIS/payroll platforms (PayCom), and Microsoft Office, a plus
- Manages state, federal, and local reporting (HCSO, Paydata, EEO, etc)
- Knowledge of The Joint Commission, CARF, state and federal regulations relating to human resources preferred
