HR Generalist

A Safe Place is searching for our next HR Generalist! We are a mission-driven organization, and this role will be the main point of contact to provide support for our staff of 80 employees. We are looking for an experienced HR professional who is a self-starter and has strong knowledge of HR compliance, policies, and procedures.
About the role
Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the HR Generalist will be a department of one supporting a variety of HR functions including: employee relations, recruitment, onboarding, compliance, performance management, benefits administration, and offboarding. This role will be the main point of contact for employees and managers and ensure HR practices are aligned with employment law and organizations policies. The HR Generalist will work to promote a positive and productive workplace culture.
Position Summary
The HR Generalist will support the following areas: employee relations, recruitment, onboarding, compliance, performance management, benefits administration, and offboarding. They will ensure HR policies and procedures are compliant with federal, state, and local employment laws, recruit for open positions, conduct investigations, support the performance review process, administer employee benefit programs, coordinate training programs, manage the employee separation process, and conduct exit interviews.

$65,000-$70,000

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred
- 2+ years’ experience as a HR Generalist
- Previous HR Generalist experience at a nonprofit a plus
- HR Certification (SHRM-CP or PHR) preferred
